Well, it wasn’t pretty, but it was good enough. RGIII only completed 9 passes all night, but had several nice runs, and Alfred Morris had the sort of night that John Riggins might envy (which set up RGIII’s little scrambles quite nicely).
And to Tony Romo: so long, and thanks for all the picks.
Nearly three decades after Irsay loaded up the moving vans, that still sounds wrong.
Yeah, you got me there. Pretty big dissapointment. It was dumb how many games they barely lost that they had no business losing, but your record is your record.
I double clutched when I first saw that too, but he’s talking in left coast time. With the three hour shift those are all correct, and of course Seahawks @ Redskins fills in the last slot at 4:30 or so on Sunday.
Man, what an awesome night. Alfred Morris deserves major acclaim. He’s been understandably overshadowed in the public eye by RG3, but they couldn’t have done this without him. The defense still concerns me. The Skins need to shore it up in the offseason.
I’ve been a Colts fan since 1970 and this is one of the most incredible seasons they’ve ever had. I would have been happy with a 6-10 mark considering all the newbies, including Luck. I never thought they would be 11-5 and in the playoffs. I think they can beat Baltimore, although their season will end at New England or Denver. Still, it’s been a great season. Can’t wait for next Sunday.
Procrustus: I live in Indiana so I was overjoyed they moved here and I could watch them more frequently. I recognize Robert Irsay’s action was cowardly and mean-spirited, but I’m kind of stubborn in in my affections. I have kinfolk in Maryland so I understand the detestation people there feel toward Irsay and the franchise, but I don’t share it.
That happened long enough ago that people just need to get over it. Professional sports teams move…it happens. Equally egregious is the way Baltimore re-acquired a team via the poor Cleveland Browns.
There was a really vitriolic post I wrote about the subject once, but I can’t find it, so I’ll go with the one I did find
Basically, I don’t like teams leaving cities, but the Colts in the 80s were at least justified by lack of fan support. The Browns leaving Cleveland while having top-5 financial and fan support is ridiculous, and due solely to the greed and stupidity of one man, and the willingness of another city to buy him out. A city who had experienced the heartache of losing their team, and yet chose to inflict that on another.
The situations are not the same at all, and in fact, I’ll go further. Thinking the Colts leaving is tragic and then supporting the Ravens makes you a dick. Being a Ravens fan is a character flaw. Fuck that STD infested crack den. I’m going to go jerk off to the scene in “Sum of all Fears” where it gets nuked.
