NFL Week 2

disgusting

Joe Burrow out of the game with a toe injury. Jake Browning has done okay in his stead, with 2 TDs, but also 2 picks.

Ravens are fun (any team with both Jackson and Henry is awesome) and the Browns are the Browns. So I get this.

I don’t understand what happened to Miami. I don’t really follow them but I got the impression they were a pretty cohesive team that liked their coach but it seems like this year they just gave up before the season even started. They got scored on for the first 12 (or 14?) drives of the season which hasn’t happened in 25 years.

It’s now time for Bagent-mania to take over Chicago.

Joe Flacco is washed up, not even with the gun slinging craziness this year. Flip a coin and throw one of the rookies in. The defense is playing so well, what a waste.

It’s been a very messy game.

We’ve just had a punt returned for a touchdown followed by the kickoff also returned for a touchdown.

Five lead changes.

I can relax now.
ETA: yeah!

Rookie kicker misses two PATs, hits a 53-yard FG. All kinds of exciting today.

ETA misses the kickoff landing zone.

And a foul kickoff.

Hell, Flacco was washed up in 2023 when he inexplicably won comeback player of the year and threw 2 picks in thebplayoffs.

Fins trying to come back late.

Bengals in the red zone, down 3 late.

Cowboys down 3, with the ball.

Saints down 5, with the ball.

Bengals come back and win.

Dolphins come up short.

Saints come up short.

Cowboys take the lead, give up the lead, and have now tied it and send the game to OT.

I’m at a friend’s house playing board games so I can’t actually watch anything (:frowning:) but my wife told me that game is crazy.

Bryce Young turning back into a pumpkin. Cowboys and Giants suddenly remembering how to play defense after the worst combined fourth quarter coverage effort I can remember.

That Russ Wilson arm punt seemed random

Cowboys, as usual, win by virtue of their opponent being even more inept.

Seahawks are now a fumble short of being 2-0 as dogs. But, the Darnold era is reminding me a lot of the Dave Krieg era with the sacks and QB fumbles due to no protection from the O-line.

Uggh. That’s going to be repeated a lot this season. Mike McDaniel’s head coaching days are numbered (along with GM Chris Grier). I predict total regime change after this year is up.

The team is just lackluster. The defense sucks, the offensive line sucks, and Tua isn’t a dynamic passer anymore.

Xavien Howard, defensive back for Indy, who used to play in Miami, has said that Tua “panics” when he doesn’t get his first read. His best pass used to be in the middle of the field - I get the impression that teams are taking that away from him, and his noodle arm can’t get the ball elsewhere on a tight rope.

Even so, Tua led the league in completion percentage last year. I’ve seen him miss badly on a wide open Tyreek Hill in both games this season. Hill’s biggest catch (his first over 30 yards since Week 1 of last season) was a badly
underthrown pass. Tua also threw an interception right at a defender in weeks 1 and 2.

My biggest regret: The Dolphins drafted Tagovailoa ahead of Justin Herbert, who was right there.

The pitchforks are out in Chicago. I think the fans might be ready to call ICE to drag Poles off to Alligator Alcatraz. Can’t say I disagree.

The game was a total train wreck; and it wasn’t helped by that atrocious officiating at the end of the half, but somehow I feel better about Caleb this week than I did last week.

The Bears defense is already a MASH unit, so I fear that BJ has brought that pattern over with him from Detroit.
