If you’d care to be objective, go look at the tape. My snacks are fine, it’s the UN-reality of the NFL I have an issue with. If you’re a Stealers fan then don’t bother then.
I missed most of the game. I caught the phantom offensive PI on Lockett. There was more?
Seriously? After that page-long rant you’re questioning someone else’s objectivity?
So who can the Pats bring in for a couple games at QB?
Peyton?
Favre?
Tebow???
Vick is a free agent
Also, it’s probably the same as every year, but there sure seem to be injuries everywhere so far.
Tom Brady with a fake mustache.
“And out comes New England’s QB – it’s #2, ra y”
“Sure is a lot of duct tape on that jersey …”
I didn’t watch the Ravens/Browns game, but i saw some highlights. I’m a Ravens fan, but that taunting penalty was complete bullshit. I’m not a huge fan of the rule against taunting at the best of times, but this particular incident doesn’t (or shouldn’t) even qualify as a violation of the rule.
It did produce a laugh-out-loud comment (for me, anyway) over at Deadspin.
Browns fan: “I threw a table ten feet after that flag.”
Deadspin commenter: “You’re now third on the Browns QB depth chart.”

Glad I went to bed after the Packer’s second touchdown. It isn’t panic time yet, but the offense has not gelled.

Ahhhh, so nice to have football back again. Pinpoint passes, rumbling touchdown runs, crushing sacks… and AFC North fans complaining about the refs.
Not going for the FG really DID come back to bite them, didn’t it?
I have no problem with the Packers going for it. My problem is that they didn’t give it to Lacy.
It was a hell of a game and a bit chippy.
But when can we have Rodgers back? The guy back there with RG3 syndrome is not Rodgers, I don’t care what his jersey says.
You’re funny. You are correct that I didn’t see the game, but I don’t need to see it to know that there is not an officiating conspiracy in favor of the Steelers. Could it have been bad officiating? Certainly. We’ve all had that happen to our teams. But conspiracy? Take a pill, man, you’re embarrassing yourself.
(And no, I am not a Steelers fan. Quite the opposite, in fact.)
According to Wikipedia (so you know it’s true), Edelman is now one of the Patriots’ QBs. He has thrown a TD pass (which is more than their third-string QB can say at this point), but I don’t think they’ll go with him as the fourth-string QB.
As Brissett’s backup Thursday, I’d bet on rookie TE A.J. Derby, who played the position in college much more recently, before Arkansas let him change positions. It may be only for one game, if the sprained-AC-joint rumors are true. Moving Edelman to QB would take away their best possession receiver, at a time when a novice QB would most need him. They both know the offense.
And, before I forget, fuck you, Goodell.
ETA: Also before I forget, Ryan Tannehill, Tyrod Taylor, and Geno Smith *combined *have fewer playoff TD passes than Julian Edelman. So fuck you too, rest of AFC East.
Well, he was a QB in college, so it’s not too much of a stretch to use him if the situation demanded it. Similarly, Terrelle Pryor is now the third-string backup for the Browns.
Funny enough, Tebow just reported to the Mets instructional league facility today for the first time today (breathlessly reported across the ESPN-sphere).
I have about as much interest in that as I do about what Johnny Football is doing right now.
Geno Smith? He’s the backup. You might as well say Bryce Petty for all the meaning it would have.
Say Ryan Fitzpatrick instead. He’s never been to the playoffs, so it still works.
