NFL Week 2

Is Philly ever going to call a running play?

Then again, as effective as the Bears’ secondary isn’t against it…

Watching the Bears v. Eagles game. Decided there was some paint drying I could watch instead.

He started 30 games in 2013 and 2014. He’s a backup now but he was the first string QB for 2 seasons.

I can’t for the life of me figure out the relevance of this non-sequitur. How is this related to the idea that if the Patriots need to trot out one of their WRs as a QB, he’ll still have more NFL bona fides as a passer than the other QBs in their division? Geno Smith isn’t a starting QB in the division, and has no more relevance to the burn than Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg.

Wentz is the first QB in NFL history to win his first two games as a rookie and have zero turnovers.

So had the Stealers been playing a Manning-led team or the Patriots, does that bullshit call get reversed or even made in the first place? Do the holding calls get enforced? It’s crazy to think the NFL supports it’s blue chip franchises that bring it the most money through favorable calls by the refs?

First, you could help us forget your plainly partisan point of view by spelling the Steelers’ team name correctly, but then it’s clear you don’t care about that.

The whole ‘scripted’ argument is a common rationale of fans for why their team lost. It’s easier than the realization that the team wasn’t good enough to win on that day. It has no more truth than the Easter Bunny.

I’m sure you blame the refs for losing the Wild Card game last year. It couldn’t be that two of your players screwed it up and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

When you only use words like Stealers and Shittsburgh, any appeal you might make comes across as partisan and whiny.

And I suppose both are easier than the realization that sports have lots of random things happen, and who wins doesn’t always have anything to do with who played better. We all want the world to make sense, after all.

Randomness had nothing to do with a couple of players being idiots.
