It’s interesting – maybe even a little peculiar – that Chicago’s getting no love from the oddsmakers. Other than that nothing really jumps out at me from a wagering perspective.

We’ll finally get to see whether the Chiefs are for real as they face a stiff test from the visiting New York Giants. (/sarcasm, sad clown face)

This could be Washington’s week to finally get a win. Or for Terrelle Pryor to have the game of his life. The 'Skins have a habit of making shitty teams look good. They’re generous like that.

I hate to say anything nice about the Raiders, but QB Pryor actually looked like he belonged in the pros in the game against Denver, unlike the parade of previous Raiders QBs. I’m curious to see if they can score a few wins this year.

Josh Freeman is benched in favor of Mike Glennon. Personally I blame Greg Schiano, just 'cause he seems like a huge dick, but there’s no denying that Freeman has played poorly.

The point spread has already shifted from Buc -3 to Bucs-1.

Am i reading that right…Detroit has to give Chicago 2.5 points? I do not gamble on football, but if I did, I’d take the Bears on that one. Detroit just had a receiver break his arm trying to catch a pizza, and the Bears have been looking pretty good…

Detroit has to win by at least three, is my understanding of that figure.

ETA: I too, were I a betting man, would take Da Bears on that one. Not really sure why the Lions are favored in that one. They barely beat a horrific Redskins team last week.

Believe it or not, it’s actually up to 3 points at the moment, depending on which sportsbook you use (and going from 2.5 to 3 is a deceptively large move, so money’s actually coming in on the Lions).

Because can haz Megatron!

That Det vs Bears spread is nuts. It’s actually making me consider opening an account at one of these sites, which I know would be a BAD idea. I expected Bears to be favored by at least a touchdown.

I think the spread is due to the thought that the Bears are, once again, not as good as their record. They’ve started hot in each of the last three years, and have failed to make the playoffs. That, and the home team in a divisional game. Those are my guesses.

I think Pryor will squeeze a few wins out against the not-so-great teams, but maybe not this week: he got a concussion aagainst Denver and hasn’t been cleared yet.

The Lions line has actually moved to -3. Wow. Looks like easy money. Same for the Bengals/Browns which is now Bengals -4. I’ll be surprised if the Browns can stay within 2 TDs.

Generally speaking, if Vegas considers the home and visiting teams to be evenly matched, then they’ll favor the home team at -3. So the line opening at DET -2.5 is actually a sign of respect for the Bears.

Yes, supposedly home field is worth 3 points, but at -3 that would suggest the Bears and Lions are even on a neutral field. I believe the Bears would be at worst -3, so the line for the game in Detroit should be even.

I’m reserving judgment on the Bears until after they play this game and the Saints next week.

These two teams both look awful.

Yep, although StL looks vastly improved over last week for being on short rest.

Anyone else’s broadcast ‘darker’ than usual? I know it’s indoor at night but it seems more muted than normal.

Heh, never mind. My 75 year old dad was here with the remote all afternoon and ‘some obscure buttons’ got pushed.

My mother-in-law did that earlier while both my wife and I were out. Then she wouldn’t listen to my wife’s instructions on how to fix it.

My problem watching this game was my DVR was delaying it by at least a play. Now I’m watching it straight up live.
