NFL Week 5

That’s a very good point.

Let’s face it - the theory that Belichick ruined Mac Jones by making his pals Matt Patricia and Joe Judge co-offensive coordinators is pretty damn plausible

Or - and this seems more plausible - Kyle Shanahan is pretty darned good at being a QB whisperer.

I think a lot of QBs could be creditable backups in SF but would struggle elsewhere.

He seemed to fix Sam Darnold, and we are thankful for it.

Now, with Vikings rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy sidelined for an undisclosed amount of time after it was announced Tuesday that he will undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, Darnold unquestionably will be that guy for Minnesota entering the 2024 season.

And there’s no doubt he’s ready to show the world what he can do and remind them why he went third overall seven years ago.

“I think, obviously, going through what I did, it is what it is,” Darnold reflected. “In some respects, it’ll help me down the line. Not sure exactly when or how, but I know it will definitely help me at some point.”

The funny thing is, that article came out before the Darnold renaissance of 2024, and look what happened. I have to give Shanahan a lot of credit for that, as Darnold has.

Should have called for a play action pass. Spread formation, fake the run, dump it to Puca, he walks into the endzone with no one within 5 yards of him.

Puka.

see how Darnold improved after getting coached in SF?

He did, I linked to an article about it. He was like a totally different QB afterwards.

sorry, I tend to have (too) quick responses without reading above/below posts, hence duplication. My bad. thanks

No, I was just glad you agreed with me.

When I first read about it I assumed he was the victim of a mugging–instead he turns out to be the aggressor. I suppose he makes half a million dollars or so a year at Fox.

Not anymore.

Maybe he tried to stab someone from behind but fumbled the knife when he ran into his victim’s rear and stabbed himself?

Mariners lose by 1. When they put Vargas out there I told my wife, this ain’t good. And sure enough, his wild pitching (which we also saw in the regular season) cost them the game.

More details on the Mark Sanchez incident:

The second individual also reportedly had “significant injuries” and claimed Sanchez was the aggressor in the incident and that he was merely defending himself with a knife. A source with knowledge of the situation reported that police made the decision to arrest Sanchez after they reviewed area surveillance video and spoke with the other person involved in the incident.

Per the source, the other person involved in the incident was a [69 year old] grease disposal truck operator that works with local restaurants. That driver and Sanchez got into the altercation, according to the source, when Sanchez told the driver he was upset that the grease disposal truck was blocking a nearby alley. The source also indicated that Sanchez was acting erratically and had started doing wind sprints in the alley before the stabbing occurred…

According to FOX59/CBS4 sources, Sanchez wasn’t cooperative with responding police officers. The other person involved in the incident told police he initially tried to defend himself from Sanchez by using pepper spray. When that didn’t ward Sanchez off, the victim allegedly used a knife to defend himself.

Damn, I thought I was in the MLB thread.

Discourse does not work in iOS 26.

Now I understand why Browns fans drink so much.

As a Colts fan…damn. They’re destroying the Raiders. 40-6 with about 3 minutes left.

Sean Payton in full eff-it mode against the Eagles, declines to take the tied game and gets the 2 pt conversion, 18-17.

Some woofer games. Ravens are impotent on both sides of the ball from injuries. The Jets are, well, the Jets. Oakland😛 just doesn’t have it.
