2002 I’m told …I just hope they have a winning season but its still early with possibilities to blow it
Wow, I’ve rarely seen a team so desperate to lose, especially when almost every break is going their way. Granted, Denver’s defense is really, really good, but all the Chargers had to do in the 4th quarter was gain a first down and they did not get anywhere close to sniffing distance of the first down marker on what, like four or five possessions?
I don’t know why I keep putting myself through this shit, there will be no happiness to squeeze out of this season. It’s like a chronic disease.
I guess it’s probably fantasy football more than anything that keeps me coming back.
Ugh, my only early game is Jaguars vs Bears. I think I’ll watch a replay of The Rugby Championship instead
Apropos of nothing, I’ve got a Yahoo! game page open (Saints vs. Panthers) and, out of the corner of my eye, I see a banner ad from the Catholic Alumni or something like that, asking “Which Pope Are You?” in neon pink. I guess attendance is down…
Was one of the options Pope Goodell I ?
Washington’s defense holds on, and the run game rips it up! It would have been a rout if they hadn’t spotted the Eagles two touchdowns. I’m still not prepared to believe that the team is going places, but they seem to have achieved an uncharacteristic level of stability.
The Seahawks are currently the only team to have 2 blocked PATs. They won both of those games, each by two points.
I’m not quite at the point of giving up, but the Packers need to improve significantly or I will have some extra free time. (I can’t watch when the suck)

Anybody think Jerry Jones will continue to announce that Romo is the Cowboy’s starting quarterback as soon as he’s healthy?
If he does, the NFL should take it as a sign of advanced senility and place the Cowboy’s under protective receivership and tell Cowboy’s staff that they’re safe to ignore the old man’s orders.
Just look at the players the Browns are trotting out week after week. Cody Kessler is a noodle-armed QB with a lot of heart. Their best player, Pryor, is a guy they cut last year and couldn’t make any other NFL roster. They let a great center walk away. They cast out anyone worth a darn in the defensive front seven.
The best thing that can come from this year is that the front office won’t freak out and shitcan Hue Jackson. I do think he’s a good coach, even if he goes 0-16 this year.
I was working all day and didn’t get to watch much of the Green Bay - Dallas game, but I’ve heard horror stories already. I’m going to check it out with GamePass and a growler of beer. The plan is to share it with the neighbors, but if it’s as bad as some have made it out to be…
yep the raiders will win all the games except the ones that count
Skins looked good, mostly, but I fear what we saw yesterday was more a product of Chip Kelly’s failure as a GM, and his successors’ failure to properly address Chip Kelly’s failure as a GM, finally catching up with the Eagles. The Eagles have no depth anywhere, their receivers are terrible, and I guarantee you no one else on Washington’s schedule is going to be starting a 5th-round rookie at RT in his first start and holding back all their TEs and RBs to try to cover his deficiencies.
I agree completely, but at this point, just winning the games that they are supposed to be able to win is such an accomplishment that I’ll celebrate it.
Geez, a couple of losing teams on MNF tonight. I thought these were supposed to be marquee games. I’d rather watch the Louisville Cardinals than the Arizona Cardinals.
Well, it’s not like anyone knew they’d be losing teams when they made the schedule, at least not the Cardinals.
