NFL Week 9

Just saw that Favre’s 445 passing yards was a career high for him today. It didn’t seem like he was piling up that many yards, but I gues he was. I’m kind of surprised that he’s never thrown for that many before in all his years in the league.

Well, if you include interception return yards he’s probably eclipsed that number a dozen times.

The bills look like a much better team than their record implies, on offense at least.

Great to see the Browns beat the Patriots. New England has been living on borrowed time for a few weeks now. They got pretty lucky against both the Ravens and the Chargers, and weren’t great against the Vikings either.

The result in Detroit was a bummer. The Lions should have won that game, and seeing Rex Ryan so happy is enough to put a downer on anyone’s Sunday.

The Bills seem pretty damn good for an 0-7 team. I know that they keeping finding ways to lose, but they’re surely not as bad as their record suggests?

Good to see the Ravens get a comfortable victory over Miami. The Dolphins manged 73 net rushing yards, and the Ravens defense did what they’re supposed to do. Nice fake punt then pass by Sam Koch, too.

They can’t stop the run – they’re dead last in run defense, giving up 188 yards per game (before today’s game).

They have exactly one interception all year on defense.

They’re near the bottom of the league (#26) in passing, despite the fact that they’ve usually been behind (which tends to lead to more passing).

They certainly look like they’re trying (this is three straight games that they were in right until the end), but it doesn’t seem like they have enough talent. I didn’t watch the entire game today, but I saw several plays in which Bills receivers simply dropped passes.

I’d like to thank the Broncos organization for inexplicably not using Hillis. I’m sure your running game is doing just fine without him.

There is a staggering amount of bullshit being passed off as refereeing in this Eagles game. Collie took a step, turned, covered up the ball in an effort to protect it, and because he happened to get hurt it’s a penalty? That was as clean a hit as you could possibly make. Then a phantom facemask penalty on the next play? The hit on Celek on the previous drive was a much cleaer example of an illegal hit, but it isn’t called. I’m about to call the Philly police and report a robbery in progress.

Yeah, the Collie penalty was some bullshit. It’s the NFL going too far to try to weed out headhunting bulllshit.

Remember, Ryan Fitzpatrick didn’t start the first two games. In the five games he did start, he’s averaged 240 yards. That doesn’t include today’s 299-yard performance.

Trent Edwards passed for 241 yards combined in his two starts.

If you project Fitzpatrick’s average over the whole season so far they’d be 10th in passing offense, and first in passing touchdowns - Fitzpatrick has averaged 2.4 per game, not including today, while Edwards threw only one total. Right now they have 13, so even rounding down, they’d have 17, one more than the Saints.

Thanks for the recap. I’m in the middle of grading hell and wasn’t able to watch any RedZone today. Doesn’t sound like I missed much in terms of my beloved Panthers.

Well, they did lead the game for three minutes and thirty seconds.

Another fucking bogus call. At what point is it fair to say the refs have been bought? Running into the kicker? When you’re standing still and hunched over and the kicker falls on top of you? Fucking nonsense.

Trade of the FUCKING DECADE!!!

Avant HIT THE PYLON! IT WAS WOBBLING! ARE YOU SERIOUS!?

It appears that Mike Vick is still the real deal even after the injury.

This has to be one of the craziest NFL seasons ever, which of course means that the Bengals will beat the Steelers tomorrow night!

I’m amazed at how much zip Michael Vick still has left in his legs. He just flashed for that first down.

Yeah, fuck him for being a shitty human being and depriving me of cool highlights for these years.

It’s not that crazy. That craziness happened last year.

I’m going to be sick. This is a fucking travesty.
