NFL Week 9

Really, on a day which the St Louis Rams didn’t play, they vaulted into first place in the NFC West.

I love the bullshit false start call when it was obvious to every single person on the field, in the stands, and watching on TV that the Colts were mimicking a snap count. How do you fuck up a false start penalty? Oh wait, just call it on green, since that’s what you were paid to do. I especially loved the nonsense 15 yard penalty at the end of the game. Just an added fuck you, like, “Hey, we tried our best to give this game to the Colts, and somehow we failed. So fuck you guys, here’s 15 more yards.”

The Eagles were penalized twice as often as the Colts and at least five of them were obviously bogus, bullshit calls. Calls so bad even the announcers and studio guys commented on them. The roughing the passer call on that final 4th and 10 was embarrassing. Embarrassing. You don’t make that call on the most significant play of the game unless you’re favoring one squad over the other. Simple as that. Fucking nonsense.

As for the rest of the game, I’m starting to really hate watching this Eagles team play. A critical player gets hurt every single week and this team makes these games much closer than they should be. They had the Titans dead to rights until halfway through the 4th. The Colts should have lost by 14+. You can’t win anything significant if you constantly let teams into the game. Even the Falcons nearly came back in their game (and were really in control until Kolb hit Maclin with that bomb). I had zero confidence the Eagles would win this, considering the team’s build and the refs’ obvious bias.

I didn’t watch the whole Philly game but from what I saw you’re right, the refs were sniffing Manning’s jock.

You guys sound surprised. They’ve been doing that for five years.

The Eagles DID win the game. Just for the record.

Why do the SNF and MNF games never start on time?

Well, the reason for tonights’ delay was the sheer awesomeness of the Packers.

Suh played soccer growing up so he was the choice. The Lions have a history of this. In the late 60s early 70s Wayne Walker played linebacker. they used him for field goals too.
Suh looked OK.

The Colts-Eagles game was officiated horribly. That said, the roughing call on Trent Cole gets called every time.

Faith Hill was on her period.

I wish the Browns had managed to land Clay Matthews III somehow. His dad played for us for 19 years - 278 games! He was still making sacks at age 40. Would’ve been such a natural fit.

I only caught the tail end of one of the after game shows, but they were talking about how Childress was disrespecting Favre. What was that all about?

Meanwhile, the Raiders appear to have confirmed that they are indeed back from the dead-two clutch pass catches to set up the tying and then winning field goals.

The Packers benefit from a bad call for a defensive touchdown, thanks, in part to Dallas’ poor coaching.

Always bad to see an injustice go down, but Dallas is gonna get their asses kicked anyway.

Unless Green Bay gets complacent.

ETA: Like they just did.

He was asked if he had received assurances about his future and said something like, “I’m not Brett Favre, I don’t need a hug.”

That Jacoby Ford is either going to be a superstar, or just had a game so good he’ll be happy never to be heard from again.

You mean like maybe through the draft, where they passed him up? At least Alex Mack is panning out for you.
…and the onslaught is back on. I’m loving being witness to the near-total collapse of the much-despised Cowboys. We need a Jerry Cam just so I can watch him stroke out.

Yeah, I know. I wouldn’t have minded if we took him at #21. There was an outside shot he made it to our high second round pick. It just would’ve been so right.

Mack has been excellent though. He’s already a top 5 center in the league IMO and he’s growing.

The Cowboys really have just given up on the season. They need a real housecleaning.

It’s great that the Packers are looking so good. The problem with them is that they tend to get a bit overconfident if they start doing well. I really hope McCarthy can keep them in line.

Ridiculous hit on Williams.
