NFL WEEK TWO birds with one stone

I really wish the NFL would ban the wearing of yellow (or yellow-ish) shoes and gloves. Every time #21 of the Vikings comes into the picture, I think a flag has been thrown. (He’s wearing both yellow shoes and gloves.)

Two and oh! Two and oh! :eagle:

Ah, so it was just me being an idiot. Makes sense.

Bosco is out, so is Gainwell. Like we say around Philly, “Just wait till next year!” :rage:

I think Gainwell just got Wally Pipped anyway.

Joe Namath’s championship performance is overrated. But if memory serves, he was the first QB to throw for 4,000 yards - in an era where most didn’t reach 3,000. That’s a big deal.

Can the Vikings fricking hold on to the ball? Seven turnovers in two games. Sheesh.

Last year the Vikings were 10-0 in one score games. This year they will probably be 0-10. They are already 0-2.

The only potential upside that I see is it might signal the end of the Kirk Cousins era in Minnesota. Note, he is not a bad quarterback, but his ceiling looks to be a first round playoff loss. For that he is getting $35 million which is hurting their ability to fill other spots with good players.

And he led the league in interceptions AND threw more interceptions than touchdowns when he did it. It was pure volume. He threw the ball almost 70 more times than the next highest QB in the AFL. And this was before the merger.

I hope so. Seen so many Lions teams over the years that would rise to the occasion and beat a great team they were expected to lose to-- and people start saying “these Lions are for real!”. Then, the very next Sunday, they let their guard down and lose to a middling team everybody predicted they’d beat.

Great news! Rodgers vows to come back. (it’s The Onion).

Hey, hey, hey! Your talking about a former president. Oh wait, you mean a current football team owner? Please specify which one; I get confused easily.

One thing I noticed about Kirk Cousins is that he tends to collapse when on a nationally-televised game. I don’t know if it’s coincidence, or the pressure gets to him. I always enjoyed those Monday/Thursday night football games between Seattle and Minnesota because he’d just screw up so much.

That would explain why he’s generally successful but never gets far into the postseason. Once the pressure and lights are on, it’s like he gets on the field stage fright.

31 of 44 (70%) for 364yds, 4 TDs and no picks doesn’t sound like stage fight.

Not Kirk’s fault here. The rest of the team was the losing end of a fumble drill (4).
That’s part of the game. Patriots were perhaps the better team in week one but early mistakes dug a 16-0 hole. Turnovers and injuries make a lot of the results random; but good for the sports book.

This one doesn’t seem like it was his fault, no. But he has a reputation.

Including a fumble at the goal line, which took away a probable TD for the Vikes, which was followed by a touchdown drive by the Eagles. Probably the biggest play of the game.

And the loss was definitely not the fault of Cousins.

Anthony Richardson out after the first quarter with a concussion.

Still managed to score two touchdowns. Running quarterbacks, man.

Regardless of the outcome, watching the Packers/Falcons game has been objectively bad. From having idiotic fans screaming being a huge part in the audio feed (including more than a few swear words), to piss poor camera work, to a lack of quickly available replays of important plays, to dumb commentary, its been horrid.

I’m in shock at the Seahawks’ OT win.

Ugly Packer/Falcons game. Hard to watch, 3 dropped interceptions, penalties, crappy officiating. At least it was exciting at the end.

Missing 3 important starters, 2nd start for a new QB, and on the road, I’m not devestated by the loss, but it was a game the Packers should have won. Its not like they’re a serious SuperBowl contender this year, and they have one of the youngest rosters in the league, but the Packers need to win those kinds of games.

Cincinnati down so far this season. Happy it was the Ravens who kept them down this game.

Buffalo smashed the hell out of Raiders: Josh Allen is playing judiciously, threw no interceptions, very good pass completion. Hope they keep it up.

And with Seattle holding out above Detroit, maybe they can build enough momentum to be a thorn in 49ers side all season.

Too bad about Green Bay: from what I heard, the game was completely unwatchable in the second half, on the part of no Packers D whatsoever.
