I have a weird request, that should probably be denied, but anyway, here goes.
I had my last 3 weeks of the season planned out - set out a spreadsheet with remaining players and matchups, and barring injury had all 9 remaining picks done. My remaining picks were Stafford and Johnson in week 16, and Ryan and Marshall in week 17. But I fucked up - I had no idea there was a saturday game this week, and especially that it involved 2/3rds of my picks.
It’s plausible that I’m telling the truth - those players are the highest yardage remaining players out of the ones I’ve played at their position, and it’s plausible that I’d want Stafford and Johnson against the Falcons rather than the Bears in week 17. Similarly, I wouldn’t have wanted to use Marshall this week against Arizona. And I’d rather save Ryan for week 17 against the week Tampa Bay defense at home. So just looking at the players I’ve saved up from the last 2 weeks, and their matchups, you’d conclude that I’d probably use Stafford and Johnson tonight.
But I didn’t - I fully intended to announce their names in my post tonight when I was surprised to see the game had already played.
So anyway, I’m hoping you guys would be willing to cut me a break and allow me to pick them retroactively. If you think I’m lying or if we should just have a hard and fast rule, that’s fine. In fact, it would be nice if people could chime in and say they’d be okay with it. If not, I won’t do it. Cause it’s a big difference, combined it would be a huge week.
Anyway, I’ll make 2 picks this week, a pick as I had planned it out before, and a contingency pick of what I’ll do if the league doesn’t approve of it.

I don’t want to abuse my position as scorekeeper so I’d ask more if you to proactively confirm you’d be okay with the proposal in post 326. I realize that such a request would be pretty ridiculous most of the time, but only the unusual circumstances of having the last 2 weeks, where it’s really obvious that I was saving 2 of the highest yardage guys for these matchups in warm weather/dome in the last 2 weeks makes it pretty clear that I’m telling the truth since it would be the obvious play. But anyway, my fault for not getting it in on time, so I’ll stick with my contingency picks if I have to.

It actually makes a pretty huge difference, as RNATB had an awful week 16 and I would’ve had a great one - it actually closes the gap.

I’m actually going to make two sets of picks for week 17 - the ones I had planned to make, and also the ones I’d make if the stafford/johnson thing were null and void (basically picking them again in week 17 if I couldn’t use them in week 16) - this way you can just decide for yourselves which score is legitimate, since I feel weird about the whole thing either way.
But if we were using the stafford/johnson numbers, barring error I would actually take the lead. The numbers would be:

I believe you, and honestly the result doesn’t impact me in any way, but I don’t really think you deserve to get those starts. I’ve pretty much missed the opportunity to use Thursday night players every week due to life and poor planning getting in the way. Plenty of others have dropped the ball and forgot to post picks until after the kickoff of the early games with no recourse.
Of course we’d planned to start Brees against the Bucs defense this week, but damn it we forgot to get those picks in in time. Rinse, lather, repeat. Part of the game is planning and being organized, something I’m personally AWFUL at. Thems the breaks.
