I’ll switch the picks since I’d only do it if it were unanimous, but in this case I think this is more along the lines of the “didn’t look, here are my picks” hour after kickoff picks that people have made all year. It’s not that different because while the game was over when I posted, I’d already made the decision before the start of the game, so the outcome of the game didn’t affect it.
FWIW, habitually missing Thursday game and missing the one fluke Saturday game of the year due to Monday falling on Christmas eve seem fairly different to me, but I understand the objection. I’ll switch it up.
You’re right in that I should’ve made the pick earlier since I knew what I was doing, but I do think there’s a difference between habitually posting late (you not only missed the Thursday games but usually the early Sunday games) and being caught off-guard by a single, fluke Saturday game of the year.
The other difference, of course, is that if you were to pick some random player retroactively in week 7, you’d probably be being honest, but it’s sort of easy to retroactively talk yourself into the idea that that’s what you meant to do. Whereas in this particular situation, I had the 2 remaining QBs and 2 remaining WRs that I’d obviously saved for the end of the year (they were several hundred yards ahead of anyone else who was an option), and the matchups were obvious about which I’d play when. You could look at my remaining players and know pretty confidently that those would be my picks.
But that’s fine, I fucked up, I’ll take the punishment for it. Ultimately no one to blame but me. I’ll get the update done in a few hours, post your scores if you don’t mind.
