Hernandez only caught 10-odd passes as a freshman, and you could do pretty much anything short of murdering someone during the Urban Meyer era and still play. Of the 2008 national championship roster, just under two thirds were arrested in college or have been arrested since.
Why is Tebow being at a bar noteworthy?
Back in my college pre-drinking days, I hung out with my friends at bars. You have soft drinks and occasionally drive/carry people home.
I’d be more surprised if a QB wasn’t hanging around his teammates at watering holes, especially in SEC country.
There was an interview on the radio this morning with a boston reporter who was saying when Tebow and Hernandez were in college, the coaching staff made them room together on the road to keep Hernandez away from trouble.
That’s amazing. I wonder how typical it is, though?
Not very. There were 42 arrests of UF players in the 12 years Steve Spurrier was the head coach. That doesn’t include players arrested after college, but still.
The search warrants have been unsealed. You can follow some of what they are finding here.
Two of the items listed, that were in a safe, happened to be a dish and a scale. I’ve been going back and forth thinking that he was involved in drug dealing, though if he were, there would’ve likely also been piles of cash.
And now reports coming in that Carlos Ortiz was told by Ernest Wallace that Hernandez admitted to the shooting to Wallace.
Link.
And here is the whole pdf. Looks like the phone numbers got redacted, after the pictures were posted on Gangster Octopus’ deadspin link.
But I don’t see anything about Hernandez’s cell phone and security tapes being smashed to bits, like was reported in the beginning. I wonder if that was just a bullshit story that took on a life of its own.
This is the search warrant that tells the judge why they want to search Hernandez’ house and phone and security system. It doesn’t say what they found when they conducted the search.
I take that back. I hadn’t read that far; in the middle they do describe what they saw on the home security tape. If the system itself was smashed it’s odd that they don’t mention it.
Initially the news said the home surveillance system was smashed, but at the arraignment the DA said it was turned off after they returned to the house. This is in the search warrants too - page 108 " After about six minutes of being in the residence, Aaron Hernandez enters the basement for the final time after being inside his residence for approximately six minutes. There is no activity seen until the recording stops after 3:40 AM on Monday June 17 2013". (my bolding)
Later that page they talk about an interview with the technician who installed the surveillance system, who said he showed Hernandez how to disconnect certain cameras, and even labeled the cables for him. So I think they’re trying to imply that Hernandez disconnected the inside cameras at 3:40 , but can’t come out and say so since there’s no direct evidence of that.
Nothing I can find about the cell phone being smashed though.
On page 48 it lists suspect Gregory Moore (D.O.B 1/16/1969). Who is that? Is it a typo or something?
Date of Birth: January 16, 1969 is my guess.
I meant the name. There has never been any mention of a Gregory Moore.
He needed to practice turning water into wine.
Back then, Tim was a little backward so he was turning wine into water, as per the Biblical story. It wasn’t until he went to church the next Sunday that his preacher straightened him out.
" Newly released surveillance photos show former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez holding what authorities say appears to be a gun, shortly after his friend was shot to death."

What a coincidence!
He was searching his own home for the real killer. Had to be prepared in case he found him, ya know.
Aaron Hernandez has also been indicted by a grand jury on two charges of first-degree murder in the killings of two people in Boston’s South End in 2012 (Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado, who were shot to death on July 16, 2012 while stopped at a traffic light).

I wonder if there are any more.
