2019-20 schedules will be announced this week. Home openers were announced last week. For the third year in a row, the Caps will be present for the raising of the Stanley Cup banner.
Woot! Knights get to host the Sharks to open the season!
I hope that Las Vegas can open every year against the Sharks or the Kings; I like the regional feel that gives.
Toronto was forced to give up a 2020 first round pick to trade him away to clear cap space. Canes have plenty of cap space and they will buy him out.
I will fondly remember his time with the Canes.
As a Canadian, and as a Stars fan I love the upcoming HoF class.
Zubov and Carbonneau are both deserving picks. Hayley Wickenheiser (first year eligible) is also a deserving pick, being one of the greatest hockey players ever to come out of Canada. And Vaclav Nedomansky…he will likely be the last player who played in the WHA to make it to the Hall.
Caps & Pens play four times, all afternoon games. Two in DC in February, two in Pittsburgh in March.
Steve Yzerman: “The Detroit Red Wings select Moritz Seider!”
Red Wings Fans: “Can we have Ken Holland back?”
Me: “that didn’t take long.”
Blues signed “The Chief” to three years…Craig Berube, You deserve it!!
Now we need to deal with Binnington and a few RFA’s and we are ready to skate into 19-20 season.
Wooo Hooo…Hail to the Chief!
Jim Rutherford is in the Hall of Fame!!!
Of course. He’s a future hall-of-famer, a mentor, and a guy who comes to play every game. He’s worth the one year contract for Carolina. I wish Marleau and the 'Canes all the luck next year.
I think you missed the joke. Marleau is likely to retire or be bought out. He’s not expected to play a game for the Canes.
(It reminds me of the smartass Sharks fans who did a tribute to Hoffman after he was traded to the Panthers – which occurred mere hours after Hoffman had been traded to the Sharks)
Oh, I was unaware, so I suppose I did miss the joke. Sounds like he wants back on the west coast.
In other news, Roberto Luongo announces retirement after 19 seasons. Third winningest goalie in NHL apparently.
Brooks Orpik has also retired. From this Penguins fan, thanks for all the Free Candy, dude.
Penguins trade Kessel to Coyotes for Galchenyuk, Joseph.
Panthers trade Reimer to 'Canes for Darling; place Darling on buyout waivers.
And Steve Simmons acts as classy as usual.
(Did Phil steal his lunch money when they were kids or something?)
Well, colour me surprised. The Stars signed Perry to a one year contract.
And color me depressed; the Stars are failing to keep Spezza (age 36) and (probably) Zuccarello (age 31), in exchange for a couple of 34-year-olds, one with injury issues. Is this progress?
The Rags are crazy for Panarin…
81.5 Mil for 7 yrs…11.64 Av Cap hit…CRAZY.
Makes the Blues/Tarasenko deal look GREAT…
The Breadman is awesome tho.
Looks like Beau Bennett’s back in the NHL – he’ll be playing for Arizona.
