Read up on your hockey history and you’d be a little more okay with changing those division and conference names, because a lot of those hockey founding fathers were rat bastards. It’d be the equivalent of naming baseball divisions after Charlie Comiskey, Tom Yawkey, George Steinbrenner, and Marge Schott.
you need a conference name to tell you where Seattle is?
Was your post deliberately obtuse or was that unintentional? :dubious:
Welcome, John Tavares!
Aye: Tavares heads back to Toronto, Cullen heads back to Pittsburgh, Couture stays in San Jose… lots of action on trades today!
I was glad to see Jay Beagle go to Vancouver only because the guy caused a lot of trouble for the Knights in the Stanley Cup games.
I hope he enjoys his time in Vancouver, where his talent is less likely to ever be contributing to anything larger.
Overall I thought Pittsburgh made some strong moves but I question the age of the team they are building. I thought the Lightning wisely held on to some good guys, but they also are looking at the beginning of a potential age problem.
I’m not happy about losing Perron but the Reaves trade worked out well for Las Vegas and I was initially against that, so I’ll wait and see who the Knights bring in.
Knights signed Fleury to another 3 year extension, so we have him for 4 more years now. He says he hopes to finish his career here, which is awesome. Flower Power! Woot!
Former Goalie Ray Emery has died.

Oh man; that’s heavy. 35 years old. RIP Mr. Emery.

Damn. And I thought something interesting must have happened.
I guess we do need a new thread though…
Makes sense, since training camps will be opening soon. I’d like to maintain monthly threads once the season starts, I think there’s enough NHL interest on the SDMB.
