Hey, has anyone ever dropped the Stanley Cup while skating it around after the game??? Seems kind of dangerous
Also, its out of its storage area 300 days out of the year? Has it ever been lost? Anyone ever try to steal it? Does it have some kind of tracking device in it just in case?

No mention of it being lost, but it was stolen at least once (then returned). It’s also been pooped in, eaten and drunk out of, used to baptized babies, and when the Penguins won one of their cups in the 90’s, it wound up on the bottom of Mario Lemieux’s swimming pool courtesy of Phil Bourque. Then at the bottom of Patrick Roy’s pool a few years later. So it has definitely taken some abuse.
Darryl Sutter: “If you make the playoffs in the NHL today, you can win the Stanley Cup.”
Very true. There is so much parity in the league now (due to the salary cap) that anyone can pull this off: but you need a really hot goalie. Quick is amazing. I put him up there with Hasek and Fuhr as far as acrobatic goalies go.
Glad for the Kings but can’t help feeling sad for Lundqvist. He was awesome and got not a lot of help at times. My three favorite teams in these playoffs were Hawks, Kings, and Rangers; I wish they all could dance with the cup.
But wasn’t it great to see Dustin Brown’s face when he lifted the cup? There’s pure joy for you.
I saw that thing where Pat Quinn and John Davidson called Burns’ widow to tell her Pat was going to the HoF. They should have apologized for not inducting him while he was still alive.
Anyway, I like this HoF class. Small but good. However, if somebody could verbalize the argument for Blake making it, I would be interested in hearing it.
How the hell Don Cherry isn’t in the HOF is beyond me. What the fuck are the writers smoking? (Of course, it was only last year that Fred Shero got in, so I shouldn’t be surprised)
