I prefer monthly threads, but let’s see how much action the thread gets. I renewed my Game Center Live for this season and I anticipate I’ll be watching more hockey this season.
The Sharks got off to an inauspicious start, giving up a goal on the very first shot of the game, but managed to right the ship and start the season with a 2-1 victory over the Kings.
Blackhawks looked like they were stuck in glue much of last night. I hope the Stars are moving better tonight. And, I hope Jonathan Quick isn’t really hurt.
I don’t really have strong feelings. I started it as a three month because it didn’t look like the monthly regular season threads ever get to a second page.
Of course, the Jackets found a way to choke away two 2 goal leads. Safe is Death? More like Same Old Jackets. Tortorella will be fired by Thanksgiving.
The NHL has made all teams cease offering their own apps. Now, you can only access content through the NHL app. Naturally this sucks as the Blue Jackets app was excellent, which featured access to all the Blue Jackets podcasts and radio coverage.
But can they establish a new record for most consecutive losses to start the season (exceeding last year’s 8 in a row will be tough).
I was betting on something like a 4-4-2 start before the wheels fell off, but they could still collapse even sooner and be out of the playoff race by early November.
Remember though, management is on the right track. Stay the course!
The San Jose Sharks have 11 shots on goal and are leading the Jackets by 2-0 and the first period isn’t over. Tortorella might be gone by Halloween, this team is a disaster.
With 50 seconds left in the third period, down 2-1, the Florida Panthers make a goaltender changer to buy some breathing time. Panthers score to tie up the game! Haven’t seen this trick in a while.
