NHL: October 2011

Well the Wings bit it big time last night. I’m not to concerned about a loss. But the method fit was scary. I though they actually played as the better team for the first 39 minutes, except for Vokoun seriously outplaying Conklin, and Washington being much cleaner of Power plays. But The Wings just plain gave up after the 4th goal, which was not a good sign. Sure they were on back-to-back, but they can’t be that tired this early in the season, especially since they didn’t play for most of a week week before the back to back.

D’oh! But yeah, you’re right. Some friends and I kept joking about how we weren’t sure if people had heard yet if Sid was all right.

But until then, I’d say we’re not exactly hurting. (I am loving James Neal.)

hops onto the Fire Jacques Martin bandwagon

WTF Jacques Martin. I was already rolling my eyes at your use of Cammalleri on the PK, Gorges on the PP, Plekanec at the point on a PP and Moen in the top 6 (though to his credit, he’s at least potting some goals), and last night’s Cole-Nokelainen-Blunden line and your offensive tactic of “dump the puck in the O zone, have only one guy go after it, and change lines and now defend, defend, DEFEND” kind of caused a bit of a sprained eye muscle, but this morning’s practice line up just might cause mass hysteria in Montreal for it’s stupidity.

Nokelainen-Blunden-EMELIN.

Alexei Emelin, the monolingual Russian DEFENCEMAN who has played all of a half dozen games on NHL sized ice, on the fourth line.

Oh, and Max Pacioretty has an injured hand; timeframe for recovery has yet to be determined. Seriously, this team has no manner of luck at all. :frowning:

They have as much as any other team, they’re just still in the red for all that they used in the 2009-10 playoffs.

Dan Bylsma gets his 200th win. Marc-Andre Fleury gets his 20th career shut out and his first of the season. Malkin was back on the ice. As Badger Bob Johnson used to say, “It’s a great day for hockey”.

YES!!! It’s just one game, but…

100 wins for Carey Price (something like 7th youngest goalie to get there), 3 point night for Max Pacioretty (playing on an injured wrist - this kid is amazing) and free chicken wings at La Cage aux Sports (5+ goals)!

Feels good!

At Boston tomorrow and against Boston on Saturday before a 6 day break. Should be interesting to see how Pacioretty is greeted… to hear some Boston fans tell it, Chara was the victim in this whole thing

Congrats on kicking Flyer ass. God, I hate those bastards. (With the exception of Max Talbot – why, oh WHY did you have to pick PHILIDELPHIA, Max?)

And we have two in a row, on back to back nights! That was fun! I get such a kick out of watching 5’6" David Desharnais skate circles around 6’9" Zdeno Chara.

Ottawa wins their second game in a row by scoring the winning goal with less than 10 seconds left. I doubt that’s ever happened in team history, and I can’t imagine it’s happened many times in league history.

Winnipeg beats Philadelphia 9-8 - who knew that inviting the Jets back would also turn it back into 1985?

And it was 5-1 for the Jets at one point. Despite 5 errors in the baseball game tonight, it’s still not running up 9-8 scores.

Not in a row. There was a shootout win in between.

Seriously, though, anyone have the NHL Shedulemaker’s home address? I want to [del]hurt[/del] have a talk with him.

Mon-Wed-Thurs-Sat…FRI-SAT…

Fucking seriously? I WANT HABS HOCKEY!!!

Oh, and after destroying my opponent last week in my fantasy league (212 points to 94!), I’m going to lose this one because the fucking Pengiuns also apparently don’t fucking play this week, and my two goalies are Price and Fleury.

So FUCK YOU, NHL Schedulemaker, fuck you with a splintered hockey stick.

::stomps off in a rage::

November thread is open…
