I think it has been sufficiently established in this thread that Shodan neither shit all over that thread nor derailed it. For someone to make up a hypothetical that re-asserts those very things is insulting.
Nobody is doing that. Or anything vaguely like that.
I’m baffled that anyone could turn ‘you know, the way Chimera phrased his accusation of threadshitting sounds like the start of a joke’ into ‘Shodan threadshit’.
If a group of people were at a party discussing the topic of the original OP, and Shodan joined in adding his thoughts as he did in the thread, the group would break up and rejoin later, avoiding Shodan.
A party would be analogous to MPSIMS or IMHO, but this was in Great Debates where evidence and reasoned logic should be front and center. To continue the analogy that would be more like a business meeting or a lecture hall.
Also, there may be some folks at the party who would be interested in finding out whether there’s any evidence to support the conjecture. Not all parties are the same.
It was a thread in Great Debates, not party chit chat, so I don’t see the relevence.
Chimera’s OP is full of wrong, so his sarcasm makes him look bad.
Cairo Carol was just making a random observation: Parts of Chimera’s OP sounded like a stereotypical joke setup. If there was any hostility toward Shodan -or anyone else- I didn’t detect it.
Wouldn’t telling somebody they are Jr Modding actually be a type of Jr Modding? I mean, if a non-Mod was doing it? Just report a post if you think it’s a rule violation. of course it this is true, my post is now Jr Modding, so I have to report myself.
