I agree. While I generally disagree with Shodan in any debate involving political topics, I always feeling like I’m participating in a dialogue. Shodan is expressing his own opinions, understands what he’s saying, reads what other people say, and responses to other people. He’s miles ahead of some of the other conservative posters we’ve had here who don’t appear to understand their own posts and don’t read anyone else’s.
Things could be worse. I noticed a lot of people I LIked and respected. Even Shodan has his funny moments.

The fact that he is the “best” that the right has to offer is a testament to how shitty the right is.
It works just fine at the individual level. I have him on ignore, and I have no complaints. I don’t feel I’ve missed anything. I just occasionally check to see if he’s still using snark as a replacement for actual argument, rather than just an adjunct. Or if he’s still acting inconsistent with his statement in 2016 about being on the anti-Trump side by attacking people for being anti-Trump.
It’s not like Frylock said the guy would leave. Just that people should by now realize that they’re just saying the same things they said before, and that it doesn’t work.
DNFTT is lousy policy for trying to actually moderate a troll. But it’s still good advice for people to stop wasting their time and getting angry about someone who won’t chance.
