I never understood why so many Dopers get upset about his sig line. I also don’t understand why nobody uses the mouse wheel to scroll past a poster they don’t like.

Yes he did, and I take him at his word.
I’ve never really understood why folks got riled by his sign-off, either. No one seemed to mind that **Satan **(a long-banned user) always ended his posts with,
and my dim recollection is that it could be friendly or sarcastic as needed, just like Shodan’s.
Frankly, the one that gets me is that weird little period, sitting all by its lonesome several lines down from the last line of actual text in a post. I’ve seen it lots of times from multiple posters. What is *up *with that? Why are you making me scroll past a blank gap to get to the next post?

In his defense, Shodan lets whatever shit the right wing is currently spewing pass through him, so there’s that similarity.

That’s not what the offended parties say. They usually think he’s being condescending. Maybe he typed it with snide, arrogant intent and they see its negative aura.
Shodan was, too, but he let his professional licensing expire.

Yeah, some of us are analog only; I can’t even afford to read this thread digitally. When I run into a Shodan post I have to tear that page out of my spiral notebook and tear it into tiny pieces.

BTW, I think the primadonnas with the dot at the end just want to leave white space before their .sig for aesthetics. They lack the grace or work ethic to paint the dot white and make it invisible.
