Looking for opinions about nice places to stay a day-night-day-night-day split between Crescent City one night and somewhere between there and San Fran the next night. Extra credit if there are some fun things for kids and good beer/wine (because we’ll be with kids).

Gualala is worth a stop, if only for St. Orrs. Fantastic restaurant and inn in the middle of nowhere.

Fort Bragg or Mendocino would be good. There are beaches, as well as redwood parks nearby. Fort Bragg is more of a town, but both should have good eats.
The Victorian town of Ferndale, on the Lost Coast, is adorable. It’s definitely off the beaten path, however.
Bodega Bay is an option. My son loved visiting the Bodega Marine Laboratory. Well, actually, we all did.
