I’ve been chewing Nicorette orange flavored gum for a while. Problem is the orange flavor is becoming scarce around here. There are great deals on Original and Mint flavors at local warehouse outlets so I’m thinking of changing flavors.
Mint is out of the question becuase once you chew Mint gum, everything else like coffee doesn’t go well with it. This is why the orange is better becuase it doesn’t have any after-taste.
My question is does anyone know what the original gum tastes like? I dont mind the bitter/hot nicotine flavor which is released by chewing. I just cant stand the mint. Can someone who’s currently chewing this gum comment on how it compares to Orange flavor? Does the Original flavor have sweetness to it and how would you describe it?
The origional tastes kinda like cardboard, if memory serves. Not much to it but the
peppery-burn. Good with coffee/etc. Rather neutral, and unsweetened
GlaxoSmithKline is discontinuing that orange gum you love so much. The good news is they’re replacing it with a new orange gum. The old gum was sold in 110 count boxes, was not a very soft chew, and you were to chew and park the gum over and over to slowly release the nicotine.
The new orange gum, called Fruit Chill will start shipping March 13th. It will be in a 100 count box. It’s the new generation of nicotine gum which is much softer to chew and you don’t need to park it in your mouth. Stores that move merchandise faster usually have new products on the shelf first.
It seems they are moving away from the old gum that is so tough to chew. I tried the old gum in 1992ish and it was awful. They are going to market this new gum very heavily and I expect the old gum will be gone in less than 5 years. I got a sample of the new fruit flavored gum without the nicotine and it was fantastic, chewed and tasted like regular gum.
What? There are flavors now? In any case, the original still tastes better than cigarettes – that’s cigarettes NOW, not cigarettes when I was a smoker.
