Night of the shootings: Kent State too?

I’m hearing rumblings on Twitter that there’s a lockdown at Kent State also after reports of a shot fired.

Anyone else hearing this?

Two places where there have been shootings already, this is weird. Terrible, but weird.

Apparently no known injuries, a suspect description is out. Lockdown over for most of campus, evacuation under way.

From what I’ve read from peers (I went to KSU) it was just a “shots fired” and no one was killed or injured.

The suspect has already been apprehended, off campus.

UPDATE: 11:55 p.m. - Suspect from tonight’s incident has been apprehended off campus. Police say there is no longer a threat.

UPDATE: 11:45 p.m. - The Business Administration Building has been cleared and the shelter in place advisory has been canceled for the entire Kent Campus. Police believe the suspect is no longer on campus.

UPDATE: 11 p.m. - Police advise that anyone in the Business Administration Building should continue to shelter in place until they are evacuated. The rest of the campus is clear.

UPDATE: 10:26 p.m. - Shelter in place advisory lifted for all buildings except Bowman and the Business Administration Building. Please continue to avoid the area.

KSU Advisory: April 2 - Kent Campus - Shot fired into ground near Bowman Hall. No injuries. Continue to shelter in place. Suspect is a black male wearing basketball shorts and carrying a silver handgun. Please call the police at 330-672-3070 with any information.

About a month too early for shooting season there…
