Nightclub girls on Facebook - What exactly do they do?

As a result of randomly Facebook friending someone a few weeks ago I now have access to a the Facebook pages of several girls who apparently work for nightclubs, but what they do is bit of a mystery to me. They are mostly attractive, thin and most appear to have implants. They dress in relatively skimpy outfits and show lots of cleavage and leg. The pics are mostly duckface type poses with touring DJs, some patrons of the club, and their co-worker girlfriends. The clubs are all electronic dance music (EDM) type clubs.

There are no pics of them serving drinks either as waitstaff or behind the bar as bartenders. It all just pics of them schmoozing and mugging. There are several posts announcing upcoming DJs and various shows so it’s obvious they are using facebook as a media portal to advertise the club.

I am curious what do these women actually do?

Apparently, what they do is post pictures of themselves to advertise the nightclubs that employ them.

There are plenty of people who measure their self worth by the number of friends that they have. They will friend anybody, including these chicks. The chicks post their pictures, the aforementioned people comment on (or like) said pictures, which then posts the picture to the feed of everyone that they’re friends with.

So, yeah. Cheap advertising, in every sense of the word.

And this is one reason we have the TV show “Catfish”.

As a WAG they are probably trying to get guys to go to the club to try to fuck them or women who look like them. Not so guys can actually fuck them, but so the guys can pay the cover charge and buy drinks. That is the obvious solution. No idea if it is the correct one.

Answered it in your own OP.

I think, but am not sure, that the type of club employee you’re asking about is referred to as a “Bottle Service Girl”. Google that term. If I’m right, it has a bit to do with social media, but not in any broad sense. These positions cater exclusively to the 1%. It’s mostly about attracting very wealthy clients to very exclusive clubs to spend obscene amounts of money getting shitfaced on extraordinarily expensive booze. Not extraordinarily valuable booze mind you, just extraordinarily expensive booze.

If these women are working in clubs in Kansas City or Pittsburgh, I’m not sure what their job is.

I’ll be damned. That’s it.

The clubs are in LA and DC.

It is interesting that even in the linked article (like the facebook posts) there are no pics of them actually pouring drinks. They’re just schmoozing and mugging.

This was also interesting How Bottle Service Works

From the linked article-

$15 to $20 a mixed drink??? Mother of God!

Luckily, none of these “clubs” are marketing to middle-aged, middle-class professionals. My Facebook feed seems to pull up Buffalo Wild Wings instead.

That doesn’t really seem that out of place to me. I can pay $11 for a mixed drink in my small town nowadays, though that’s definitely with top-shelf liquor. I’ve had plenty of $15 mixed drinks in cities, and that’s not in clubs with bottle girls.

My guess is that the linked article is old, and the prices are MUCH higher now.

$15-20 is the going rate for a drink in a club, high end strip club, high end hotel bar or most places on the Vegas Strip.

For that reason, bottle service actually does make sense sometimes. It’s nice because it:

  1. Ensures you have a table, even if you aren’t currently occupying it with your whole crew.

  2. Gives you a dedicated waitress to take care of you.

  3. Allows you to make your own drinks. Feeling too buzzed, despite the fact that it’s early in the night? Pour your next few drinks 90% soda water with a splash of vodka and a splash of cran. Came late and need to catch up? Pour vodka over ice and have at it.

Well, there are bottle service girls and party girls. In some places (like Vegas for example), the ratio of the latter to the former is about 1000:1.

While bottle service girls are making themselves and the clubs money by selling $800 bottles of $40 booze, party girls are the ones drinking it. If you ever get a table at a decent to high-end Vegas (or LA, NY, etc.) club, you’ll find yourself surrounded by many of these scantilly-clad partiers, who basically get into the club for free. They love to party and drink top self booze for free. They serve the club a purpose by attracting men as well as drinking the liquor so the men have to buy more bottles.

I am clearly old and do not get out as often as I should.

Since the OP has been answered, I have to ask about the idea of randomly friending someone and thus allowing strangers into what you’ve posted on Facebook? That’s outside my comfort zone, but I’m a social media dinosaur. Do you worry about the privacy implications?

p.s. (I don’t mean to sound like I’m scolding; I’m really just curious about how other people use social media.)

My cousin made a living doing that for a while.

Good looking girl who got paid (and free drinks) to let the world know which hot club (all owned by the same guys) she was going to be at that night and then send out a constant stream of social media about what a good time she was having. She was a professional party girl. This was Minneapolis.

(We always thought her mother must be so proud).

I’ve never really understood why some men would pay essentially full rate for partial services. If you’re going to throw money to rent a woman, why waste it on strippers, pole dancers, hostesses, escorts, lap dancers, bottle girls etc. when for the same - or even less - you can get what you’re really after?

You hear about some rock star or professional athlete who’s at the top of the heap, and 3 years later is broke? This may be one reason why.

I’ll try to explain some of these:

Strippers: It’s not all about sex. Of course a lot of it is about sex, but there’s a component of it where you can be surrounded by beautiful women and instead being the solicitor, you’re the solicited. It’s an escape from the real world and the role reversal is appealing to some men. Plus it’s legal.

Bottle Girls: You don’t buy the girls. You buy the bottles and the girls are the servers. You don’t buy bottle service for bottle girls - that would be dumb. You don’t buy bottle service for the alcohol either. That’s also dumb. You buy bottle service for the real estate and the booze/girls are just “perks”. It’s still kind of dumb though.

Clubs are crowded. You can’t dance, you can’t get drinks, and it’s just generally a sea of sweat, cologne, and elbows. You pay money for the bottle service though, and it’s a completely different experience. You don’t wait in line. You have alcohol whenever you want and to whatever strength you prefer. You get bottled water. You have your personal bartender. You can sit down. You can have the rudiments of a conversation with a girl (kind of). So basically it boils down to, would you want to spend $30 on the cover and $100-$300 on drinks while spending half your night in line, and 100% of the night on your feet? Or do you want to take that money, pool it with some friends’ and drop $1000-$2000 (and up) on a better experience?

Of course, you could just not go clubbing, which is also valid.

Are “party girls” some sort of paid professionals or are they just “girls”?

Otherwise known as a “waitress”.

Nightclubs all paint this picture as if you are partying with 1%ers, rap moguls, supermodels and celebrities. Not the nuevo riche I-banking analysts, guedos, trust fund douches and wannabe actors from Staten Island or Teaneck, NJ who actually are there.

Real 1%ers take their bottle service on their yacht out in the harbor.

**Debaser **is correct. If you are at a club or lounge with 4 other people, $400 bottle service makes sense. You’re paying $15 for a drink anyway, you might as well pay a bit extra to have a place to sit and all the mixers at your disposal.
