What struck me the most was when she talked about working in her strip joint and someone stuck his finger in her… ‘cooze.’
Okay, I’ll admit that I expect an interesting vocabulary from people in the sex industry. But still… I can’t imagine any female describing their vagina as their ‘cooze’. That’s so absolutely uncouth and offensive, I just can’t see any woman doing it. Certainly not in a casual description like hers. I mean, I know how offended most women get when the vagina is referred to as a ‘cunt’. Seems to me that ‘cooze’ is even worse, and I can’t think of any woman using the phrase in such a casual, offhand way.
I think we’re dealing with a persona here, someone who isn’t what they really claim to be.
Or am I just naive about the use of that word?

Okay, this probably proves that I have way too much time on my hands, but I did a search for NightGirl’s postings and took a look over some of them.
A few generally useful and intelligent replies in General Questions.
And a lot of bombshell dropping- note calling John Lennon a loser in “John Lennon’s Legacy”; making fun of the South in various Confederate Flag threads; questioning why anyone still cares about the Civil War in GQ; and an explanation of how minorities carry a lot of big guns in the “Gun Control” thread in GD. (This aside from the comments about minorities in the “Mixed Marriages” thread or the ‘stupid Japs’ comment in “What Cartoons Do You Hate?” thread.)
Okay, I retract my previous comment. This is not a persona or a subterfuge. She didn’t come out of nowhere, she has posted a bit on the board, and she hasn’t simply trolled a couple of threads and pushed for responses- generally, she’s just made a snide/snotty/saracstic remark and never posted again in the thread, even when asked questions or asked for clarifications.
So she’s not someone posing.
She’s just an asshole.
I apologize for any confusion my previous post may have called; to all appearances, she’s just so uncouth and self-loathing that she uses the word ‘cooze’ without thinking about it.
I guess I am just naive.

In one of her posts, she did what I suppose she thought was a brilliant “parody” of a Pledge of Allegiance to the Confederate Flag which she ended by some referrence to “rum and spring water.” That alone should serve to show that this person has absolutely no taste, and even fewer brains. I suspect she is about nineteen years old and a total smart ass. Maybe she danced in a nudie bar, maybe not. If she did, I would like to visit a place where the customers drink “rum and spring water.” More likely she works a succession of minimum wage jobs and has lonely late-night fantasies about men paying money to gaze at her body.

Oh, Opal, you know of all the strippers anyone here knows, we love you best! I really can’t picture anyone putting you in the same category as this individual unless they have no concept of who you are and the wide range of experiences you’ve had (and shared with us here).
On the other hand, I’m sure you could admit that some of your former colleagues in the dancing biz were there because there wasn’t a lot else they could do… that seems to be the case with this girl as well. She had no potential to become anything else, and she got stuck by her racist, bigoted, closed-minded attitude.
Where did she come from? Is she a reg’s alter ego? Someone having a little fun with us? I don’t know. I like to think she’s just some skank who wandered over here by mistake, and found that she could raise the ire of some thoughtful, intellegent people with her warped, shallow views and irrational hatred. Maybe if we adopted an attitude of “she’s beneath my notice”, she’d go away. We can only hope.

Opal, I don’t care whether you are a stripper, doctor, lawyer, or indian chief - YOU are a well rounded, well spoken, witty person and I am glad that I get to associate with you even if it is just through this board. If NightGirl’s posts are the real deal then she is a bigoted, intolerant, narrow minded, creep who can’t see past that stage she dances on. I’ve already mentioned that my sister bartends at a strip club. I’ve met a few of those girls (outside the club) some of them are very nice, sweet, charming girls - I don’t have a problem with them - their career is their choice and not my business. Some of them are like this NightGirl chick, and I choose not to associate with them. It has nothing to do with where they work, it has to do with THEM personally.
And, no, I don’t like strip clubs. And, I don’t like pornography of any kind. That’s my opinion. If you or anyone else is all for it - fine. Just keep me out of it - I don’t want to know about it, I don’t want to see it, I don’t want to hear about it. I’m a prude - deal with it.

I just take offense to sweeping generalizations of dancers, and trust me, they are COMMON. You have no idea, unless you’ve been there.
Yes, I knew dancers who were dumber than a sack of mud, and I knew girls who were using dancing as a front for prostitution, and girls who were into drugs… But I also knew cab drivers who delivered cocaine, pizza delivery drivers who were a waste of air and spent their tips on pot while they were out on a run, and all sorts of other people who were useless in all kinds of professions. I just get tired of people making the assumption that MOST people who are “strippers” are any certain way.
And yes, I get a bit up at arms about it.
