Looks like Nintendo is leading the charge on the next generation of price hikes. Digital copies (of some games) will be 80 bucks and physical will be 90. There’s no good reporting yet, but there’s precious little good reporting anywhere, especially in video game journalism. Here’s a bad article

I think they picked the exact wrong time to try that, as we are headed into a period of economic insecurity and instability. People are probably going to be looking at that and thinking “I can’t afford that now.”

The video game company Nintendo said Friday that the pre-orders for their highly anticipated new console, Nintendo Switch 2, will be delayed due to President Donald Trump’s announcement of global tariffs.

“Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions,” Nintendo said in a statement on Friday. The company added its early June launch date remains unchanged.
