I used to dye my hair as a kid because it was fun.
My first grey was also at 16 and it is completly dye resistant, so I can dye my hair if I like, but it will still have grey in it.

I dyed (well, streaked) my hair twice, and I never will again.
As a child, I had sandy blond hair that got darker as I got older. A couple years ago now, I looked in the mirror one day to discover my hair was really and truly brown. There’s nothing wrong with brown hair, but it was like looking at a stranger. I streaked it blond with a home coloring kit, and it looked just like me again. It started to grow out after a few months, so I redid it. And it was just too much. My hair was too blond and it was too much chemical and it was just totally fried. I swore I’d never dye it again. Now that I’ve had more time to get used to my new hair color, I really like it. It’s a light honey brown, with red highlights and I still get my blond streaks in the summer. I even had a coworker compliment me on my highlights this summer - she was amazed when I told her they were natural.
So far I don’t have any gray hairs. I’d like to think I’ll accept them gracefully when they appear but I admit that maybe I’ll feel differently when it happens. Hopefully this will be the one area where I inherit something of my dad’s physical appearance - at the age of 58, he has a full head (too much, if you ask my mom) of curly black hair, with only a few gray hairs.
I started going grey when I was 12.
By the time I hit high school I had salt and pepper hair. This was back in the early 60s and dress codes were seriously enforced. They added a special rule just for my hair. I had to dye it all through high school (unless I was in a play as an old person). I played every old person in the history of the theater, the grandfather in the Bad Seed, the Grandfather in You Can’t Take it With You, the upstairs neighbor in Barefoot in the Park etc. etc.
Have not been carded in a bar since I was 15
Later, when I went into acting for a living, I was regularly asked to dye my hair. I pretty much have had white hair since my late 20s. Everybody has assumed I have been in my 50s or 60s for decades. Finally my age has caught up with my hair.
