We do get that those who only hold hatred and contempt for women would find trumps remarks about his interactions with women to be meaningless and without value.
But, for those of us who do wish to see women treated as actual people , and even equal gasp to men in society, those comments are actually pretty off putting.
It would seem as though you would at least be bothered by having to defend trump’s open misogyny, but instead, you revel in it.
Always do what you are best at, even if your best is the worst.
Could we maybe stop using this as a synonym for LGBT? It’s rather jarring having a significant portion of the people under the umbrella actively ignored, even by people arguing our side.
Honestly, I haven’t kept up with the extra letters that were tacked on after Q and I didn’t want it to seem I was dismissing their story. ISTM that “not-normal” would have been incredibly insulting and raventhief used non-het in the post I quoted so I ran with it.
Yes, sorry- the OP said that knows “non-hets” but wouldn’t ask them about LGBTQ issues, so i used that usage, then DesertDog used my usage- but I agree, it’s limiting and exclusionary.
How many people do you think are “out” in the West Virginia panhandle? Especially compared to how many people are Trump supporters, and who admit to that without being asked.
ETA: Before anyone asks, I’m not cool with Trump being a no-show at the DC march. Sure, he might have been booed, but as much as he likes attention…
So read the news. Make yourself informed if you recognize that you’re not. Then imagine how you’d feel if the things you read about would happen to you, and you’d have a pretty good approximation of how gay or trans people feel.
In this day and age you don’t have to live next door to someone to begin to understand their world.
That fact right there might tell you there’s a problem. An overwhelming number of Trump supporters, and gay people don’t feel it safe to come out of the closet.
Wow, did you even read or think about anything I wrote? It’s like you saw me responding to Rilchiam, and just thought to yourself “oh, I know what he must be saying”, and then responded to that. Really quite remarkable.
I can see the eastern panhandle from my house (not literally, but it’s like… Right there.) And there are a LOT of Trump supporters there. Also some LGBTQ people, that you said you know but won’t talk to them about this adminstration.
But the vile bigots of any political stripe, believe it or not, don’t come out and say they’re vile bigots. That family member I mentioned earlier? Up until I expressed support for trans individuals, she freaking adored me. Sweet as pie. Then she decided I was nothing to her and I was complete trash. For not hating on trans children.
