So the Washington Post just ran this…
Speaking as a guy who was once a political reporter I’m vastly disappointed.
The rematch was going to be the hottest story in 20 years.
Dang.

So…who do you think will take his place?
Well, I guess we’re just going to have to count on Nader.
Come on, we all need somebody to laugh at.
There’s a GD thread already.
I’m thinking the early field is…
Gephardt
Lieberman
Kerry
Maybe Edwards?
Who else?
I agree with the “rematch” theory being a show stopper but frankly I can’t stand the father of the Internet. I’m sure that he could continue making money off of ‘poor’ Buddhist monks though!
Did you happen to catch the news report about two weeks ago that talked about AlGore going over to China? Secret Trip to China! I guess he found out that his money ‘Trie’ ran dry, much like his book, and he’ll have to stick to teaching.
The Post story cites his coming on board at an investment firm as a part of his decision. I suppose I could be lured away from a candidacy by that sort of dough, myself.
Someone offer it to me, please.
I’d vote for him in 04. He’d be a great candidate.
Can I have whatever it is you’re smoking? Please?!
Oh, come on now. Gore has wonderful skills as a president. Compared with a certain unmentioned fellow.
…lockbox…
I would have to vote against any person who says “Nuc-yoo-lar” I realize certain regional dialects produce figures of speech that may be seen as ‘quaint’, but he should be able to pronounce the most terrible weapon ever.
And this comes from a Chicago boy. Our mayor is pretty good, but he can barely string a sentence together.
I’d have voted for him too.
The Dems are in big trouble if Lieberman gets the nod.
May as well give the election to W.
Please, save us all the hassle this time of counting ballots and all.
Just stay home and don`t vote, you Dems. There I said it, Thankyou.
Goddamn, another rhyming name/year presidency ruined.
Go go Howard Dean!
By far the best candidate out there.
I just regained some of my lost respect for Mr. Gore. He’s much more effective as an honest man. Good call, Al!
Yeah, I’m with japatlgt on this – thank god he saved us (and by us I mean the Democrats) the ordeal of having to decide how to handle an “ordained” candidate who, frankly, I don’t think would win in '04 either.
Now if we could just come up with someone worth getting enthusiastic about…
I know I’d vote for Michael Moore if he made a run
Russ Feingold
Holding up that fine progressive tradition from the Dairy State. He does need a little more foreign policy exposure, but he’s a good candidate for VP.
