The Basque separatist group ETA has converted its extortion demands into euros.
ETA has demanded between 30,000 and 60,000 euros (£18,000 - £36,000) from businesses in what it calls ‘revolutionary tax’. Most firms ignore the demands.
Personally I think this is very forward thinking. Why can’t other extortionists, blackmailers, etc. in Europe do the same?
Then, when Mme. Nostradamus is kidnapped again and I am faced with more requests for money to secure her release, I don’t have to make those tiresome currency conversions in order to calculate how much it is going to cost me.
