No more trips there: a drastic decision (a wise one?)

Here’s a link to a Mercedes forum where it tells you how to operate the A/C. No charge.

Don’t assume that, Ms. Goddess. I’ll check the link and come to my own conclusion.

Just take an Uber there and back and get reimbursed.

While you are in the car, ask the driver to turn up the AC.

I’ll be damned if I’m going to use Uber. I can’t summon them on my Smartphone. My Mom and I did get an Uber ride to a restaurant for Christmas dinner, but I couldn’t raise them to get a lift back home. Another customer–who turned out to be a neighbor of ours–saw my desperate struggle and offered to give us a ride home himself. I haven’t contacted Uber since. (This was weeks before I bought the car I have now.)

So use a limo service, LA is full of them. Call the lawyer, tell his secretary you won’t go without the ride, they’ll arrange everything for you.

I can only imagine the pickle you would be in if you couldn’t figure out how to remove the gas cap. Or do you simply know where all the full service stations are at?

Have you tried pushing buttons? There’s got to be one on the side or front somewhere that turns it on.

They are not well-labeled!

Oh, you don’t know how close you are! In fact the cover over the gas cap won’t flip open. I just gently pry it open with a key. So there. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is there? I have a Samsung 5. Let me know when you find the button.

I wish I could help, but the only time I was ever in LA, I escaped by plane.

No, it wasn’t a glider on a tall building; it was a connecting flight.

Oh man, too easy:

How to find a button.

Hey, maybe it’s not so simple.

F’rinstance, I’ve got this here computer with some version of Winders on it. At the far lower left corner of the screen, there’s this button clearly marked “Start”. But… It only appears there after I’ve somehow already got the computer started! :smack: I haven’t figured out yet how to start this computer when it’s not already started because the “Start” button isn’t there yet!

Not only that, but if I want to STOP using the computer, I have to click START again! What’s up with that?

Right here (PDF). Page 164.

But at least the Start button is there, when I want to do that! I managed to figure that one out.

Anyway, we see that OP’s original problem has been solved, and not by any of us on this board. He talked to the lawyer, and lawyer said he doesn’t have to go to Riverside any more.

Now, why didn’t any of us think of that?

Well, yeah, but I’m sure dougy will have other reasons to be out driving around in the searing heat. He needs to figure out how to work the fucking A/C. There’s a reason they put all those little pictures on the buttons - so that any illiterate who can manage to get into the driver’s seat can also figure out how to turn on the A/C.

Don’t assume that a German air conditioner that hasn’t been serviced for 22 years is going to work. The Germans do a lot of good stuff to cars, but air conditioning isn’t one of them.

Maybe he has pressed that button and nothing happened, so he assumed it wasn’t the right button.

Has anyone ever seen the OP and CCitizen in the same place at the same time?
