Oh, I don’t think any ISP can do that, since they would have to trust that you would pay them. I take it you don’t want them to charge it to a credit card?
I hope someone figures out why we aren’t getting emails from the Dope soon, as I am getting pretty sick of the spam I’m getting!
The SDMB email notification system is working fine. It’s your ISP that is the problem.
As near as we can figure we are being blacklisted by ISPs such as Time Warner and Comcast – they are blocking your delivery at their source.
We did not cause this blockage. Mostly these ISPs will not talk to us and when they do they tell us stories that are not in line with the known facts.
We didn’t start it and we cannot stop it.
We do have a workaround – as described by xash you get a gmail account and you point the SDMB to send your notifications to that address. You then go to that email address and forward that email to your regular account.
Google does a fair amount of spam filtering on its own but seems to leave SDMB email alone, they send it on promptly.
I’m happy to send you a gmail invite. I’ll do that right now.
Oh, I know, I just said it wrong. I need to go beat on Earthlink some more, when my patience for digging my way up the line is a bit better.
Oops, I think I may have deleted it - I kind of remember seeing something in my spam folder titled Invite… I have Yahoo accounts and one attached to my webpages that I could use, so if it comes to that I’ll use them.
