No, No, No! (November rantings)

My rant?

I couldn’t come up with a better title.

So far, nothing to complain about this month!

It’s ok. There are so MANY things to say NO to these days. Let’s start with morons who think running over total strangers who are doing nothing is good.

I was directing the “it’s ok” to the title of the thread and someone jumped in. Maybe I should rant about how slowly I type?

Actually I do have a rant. Well, maybe more of a whine.

Why is everything fun that I want to do on THIS weekend?? I’ve committed to volunteering at the dog club’s obedience trial both days, and so I’m missing a horse show, a tack sale, another horse thing, and an online seminar. My husband is also gone this weekend, and usually when he goes I enjoy hiding at home all alone, being totally antisocial.

Pout

I have a rant. saje has given me an earworm

Ever try to fast knowing there’s delicious zucchini bread in the fridge?

It’s not raining there? It’s been raining here the entire month!

Rant-i-ness extremist;) I am so tired of driving down the state hiway that leads to my county road. It is a veritable obstacle course. You have to watch for deer, drink drivers and big trucks. This morning alone I saw about 5 deer and a hugh pig on the road. After that shock i looked far ahead and saw a truck coming in the dim light. It had no head lights or running lights, completely dark. Scared the crap outta me. So by now I am close to home, thinking all was well, I saw something moving, some had dropped a litter of puppies and the end of my very long drive way. As far as I can tell there are 7 Pit- mix puppies, I get them to my garage and fed them, they neeed washing and flea stuff, they are probably wormy, aaaacccckkk! People why oh why do you do this to me?? I called the shelter, they dont really want them, but will take them. Any way that is my rant!

Why do I update software when I know it’s just going to fuck things up?

It always makes programs that work have new problems. I was having a very minor issue with Firefox on my iPad, so I figured I’d try the update I saw for it. Naturally, it didn’t fix the issue and created a much worse one. Now whenever I so much as touch the screen for a fraction of a second while using FF the menu pops up as if I want to save a photo or something. So it now works great as long as I never touch the screen.

Always.

ALWAYS.

It’s eff-ing November already? Gee-zus on a saltine! I’ve barely gotten my new years resolutions worked out for the year. Wasn’t I going to take care of that, and do that other thing, and maybe see about that?

Grrrrrrumble.

I ranted last week about my new ‘local’ juggling club (after driving an hour to an event that turned out not to be on). They announced a few days ago that this time, for reals, no messing, they were going to be on this evening. I’m totally free this evening, and I don’t have to be up early tomorrow either, so I was going to give them one last chance.

Just went to get the venue off the post; no directions or postcode, but it’s a place called Placename X Chapel. OK. Googled it for directions, and… there is nowhere called X Chapel in the town of Placename. There’s a church on X road near Placename, which could be it, or it could be one of three other chapels and churches in and around the vicinity of Placename, which is about an hour’s drive from here.

Sod that. I’m staying home.

For the whole month, even!

… how do you like it? How do you like it? …

:stuck_out_tongue:

Last night I made a very nommalicious lasagna for dinner. Wrapped it up to refrigerate it - then forgot to actually put it in the fridge.

It’s been cold here, so I pulled out my winter coat. I’ve lost so much weight in the past 8 months, it looks like I’m playing dress up in The Hulk’s clothing. I also need to buy new sweats/winter wear. I was not intending on spending my spare money this check on clothing, but my jacket looks ridiculous and I can’t keep walking around holding my pants up.

That almost sounds like a stealth brag. Congrats on the weight loss, assuming it’s intentional…

Ugh! The whole anti-vax or at least suspicious of vaccinations has bled over into one of my animal rescue groups. Basically saying, it doesn’t matter what the vet says, “it’s not safe” to give certain vaccines at the same time or at all. When I asked why would vets say it’s safe if it isn’t the response was literally, “For the same reason doctors say it’s safe”.

It’s better than walking around **not **holding your pants up (especially if you are anywhere near Hollywood or 1600 Pennsylvania Ave).

Update on my October rant about getting the wrong item on an Amazon purchase:
http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=20575530&postcount=179

To which the correct response would be “Oh, because it is safe? Good to know, thanks!”

Yeah, that’s pretty much how the conversation ended…at least for me. I just didn’t realize we had people who believed in all that in this particular group. In other ways, they all seem so sensible.

Assuming that I remember the correct poster, she’s in renal failure from polycystic kidney disease. So, probably not desired, intentional, or healthy.
