No, no, please no: Tebow

I’m actually comparing 3 and a bit seasons of Tebow with 2 of Bradford’s, because he came in to run a sort of wildcat deal behind Chris Leak as a freshman. So what, though? If Bradford couldn’t get on the field as a freshman, that’s his problem, not Tebow’s - and if he got hurt, that’s also his problem.

Other than Woodson, there was nothing transcendent about any of those players. No college player has ever had the combined rushing and passing ability of Tebow.

Just to be clear, “those players” includes Barry Sanders?

Okay, Sanders too.

Oh please, she wasn’t exactly subtle. You wanna think im horrible for thinking homophobics and prolifers are bad people even if they are polite then knock yourself out.

Vince Young

…Because it doesn’t matter who the other QB was? Barry Sanders didn’t start at OSU until his junior year because he wasn’t very good, not because he was behind a future hall of famer?

You are ridiculous.

I’m not the one claiming that a one year wonder was the best quarterback in his class.

He was better than Tebow both years he started.

Totally a one year wonder.

If you’re talking about one year wonder, talk about Barry Sanders. That one year wonder was a much better college football player than Tebow.

Sure he was. Tebow won the Heisman and pretty much every other individual award in 2007 because he was the second best quarterback in college football. Sam Bradford’s mother doesn’t think Sam Bradford was better.

God, I don’t even like Tebow, but some of you people are ridiculous.

As a Steelers fan, I know that all too well. coughBenRapistbergercough

Bradford won the Heisman in 2008 because he was the second best quarterback in college football (when Tebow was there). Tim Tebow’s mother doesn’t even think Tebow was better.

Wow, that was easy…

Tebow was a better college football player by about 250% than he’s getting credit for here, but it isn’t like the Heisman voters really give a shit about who’s a better player. It’s not a slam dunk that Chris Weinke, Eric Crouch and Troy Smith were better college quarterbacks than Drew Brees, David Carr and Brady Quinn, and those three won as much as Tebow did. In Tebow’s case, when you’re running that offense alongside, what, 9 NFL players at skill positions, you’ve kind of got a leg up on the competition. How many quarterbacks can average 4 yards a carry and score 23 touchdowns that way? It’s actually a little embarrassing.

As long as we’re still talking the last 50 years, though, tell me honestly that you don’t think Florida would have scored 65 points a game if they had Michael Vick’s freshman and sophomore years instead of Tebow’s.

First off.. “she”?!

Second, I do tend to wonder about the character of a person who throws the word “evil” around as much as you and the OP do. You are not saying that he is wrong for the association, you are saying that he is “evil”. I wonder about the character of a man that would rush that quickly to judgement.

And for the record, I am very socially liberal: Pro-choice, pro gay-marriage. I’m also an Auburn fan. I have more tiger blood in my veins than Charlie Sheen. I do not like the Gators. At all. I find the adulation of Timmy T ridiculous, but the hatred you and the OP are displaying for the guy is beyond ridiculous. You seem to hate. That ain’t good.

I’d care more if he had actually been charged. You know, like criminals are when they commit crimes.

Sorry, no idea why i thought you were female. Sure, associating with an evil organization is evil, wonder about my character all you like. There is a difference between having a wrong opinion and an evil one, thinking he was the best college qb in the last 50 years is wrong thinking homosexuals do not deserve equal rights and we should have control over womens bodies is evil, see the difference?

Even when they are charged and convicted of crimes, they’re welcomed back with open arms… as long as they can throw, catch or tackle better than the decent upstanding citizen they’re replacing, and the gov’t lets them take the monitoring anklet off before games.

Oh, like Hines Ward with the DUI? Or James Harrison beating his wife?

Bradford made a kid’s day by signing her sign about how much she liked him. Was on ESPN and CBS Sports.

Get Tebow into a set up like that and he’ll become a great NFL QB.

Oh, wait. No it won’t. Next three games will tell us what we need to know about Tebow’s NFL QB ability. As for his religion, I don’t care. I think his views are stupid, but religion does not win (or lose) football games.

Am I the only one who thinks the score would have been 30-15 Broncos had Orton started?

Nope.
