Oh, Art, will you never learn?
That’s just the risk when you’re lookin’ for fun and feelin’ groovy.
“Like a bong full of bubbled water, I will lay me down…”
Thanks a lot. Now I can’t stop laughing.
Damn. The best I could come up with was:
*Stoneward bound,
I wish I was,
Stoneward bound,
Stoned! Where my mind’s escaping,
Stoned! Where my music’s playin’,
Stoned! Where there’s pizza waiting
Munchies for me…
*
Well, thank God they caught him, and made the streets safe for decent people again.
I always feel safer when people actually, you know, stop when they come to a stop sign.
Agreed. Potheads have no business being behind the wheel when under the influence, any more than drunks or the heavily tranquilized.
The argument by the pro-pot lobby (that pot isn’t dangerous and doesn’t kill anyone) burns me up.
Do you have some evidence that smoking pot in moderation is any more inherently dangerous than drinking alcohol in moderation? I never heard of anyone dying in a pot-related car crash when smoking at home, any more than I’ve heard of any drinking-related auto fatalities from drinking at home. It’s not the smoking of pot that’s dangerous. It’s the smoking of pot and engaging in some other activity (like driving) that’s dangerous.
Er, not to jump into an argument in which I don’t really have a stake (FWIW, I’m all for some sort of legalization of marijuana), but my reading of The Scriviner’s post was that pot, like other drugs, can impair, and those who imply otherwise (ie, that it’s not a safety problem to smoke and drive, while alcohol is the true evil) clearly have an agenda divorced from the realities and consequences of smoking and driving.
How’s that for a run-on sentence and possible hijack?
I wonder what causes more auto accidents: marijuana, or cellphones?
Eonwe nailed it. That was what I was referring to – the combination of driving and pot. Driving under the influence.
But if anyone wants to argue with me that merely smoking pot on the couch at home is totally benign, I’m willing to call them on that too. Or do the pot apologists seriously believe that pot smoke doesn’t pose any carcinogenic danger to the G-I tract and lungs? Not to mention the effects of binge-snacking…
Sorry for the hijack of a hijack.
I’m not aware of anyone with any credibility in the pro-legalization movement who suggests that there is no danger involved in driving while under the influence. Total red herring.
