Any valid list of top 5 NYC-identified musical superstars would have to include Paul Simon. Yet it seems* he was not included in the 121212 Sandy relief concert lineup. I’m stunned.
Anybody know why? Was he asked? If so, why did he decline?
Thanks all, in advance.
I tuned in to the show late, so I missed the early acts. But I don’t see him mentioned anywhere in the concert promotional sites so I’m assuming he did not, and will not, perform.
From what I’ve heard from people who have worked with the man, he is an absolute bitch to work with. The concert was put together in a short time, and there probably wasn’t room for his ego.
Speaking of no-shows, I thought it was now actually illegal for any more than 3 musicians to appear together on a stage without having CeeLo Green and/or Taylor Swift on the line-up as well.
How did those two attention whores get (mercifully) shut out of last night’s Self-PromotionPalooza?
