No Super Bowl Commercials thread yet?

They had quite a few good ones last year, in my opinion. I wonder what to expect this year.

Oh my LORD…The Prison Break one they just showed right now was HILARIOUS. T-bag getting wiped out with a tackle.

I laughed, but still won’t watch the show. Too many hiatii. (I know it doesn’t pluralize like that.)

Closed Centrifuge…

Glad they cleared that fact up!

I’ve been the thread-starter on a couple of SB commercial threads, but I don’t expect much this year. It’s a slow economy, and the big trend in advertising continues to be everything Internet-related, and viral ad campaigns. That’s not to say we won’t see a few big-budget, splashy ads, but I think the number and quality has already been dropping off over the past few years.

That said, I welcome the Reebok “Perfectville” ad. Hell, I want to live in that ad… or at least visit overnight, take some pics, collect some autographs. But then, I grew up in Miami (and the '72 Perfect Season is the basis of some of my earliest memories, BION – namely, my dad’s yelling at the TV, sending encouraging words and thundering recriminations down on the likes of “Merc,” “Garo,” “'Zonk,” and Griese).

NB, though: even “Perfectville” directs you to the website for the sequel, no matter how the game turns out. (It could’ve used a fleeting shot of a big cooler full of bubbly on ice, but it’s only a 15-sec. spot.)

Go Giants!!!

That Bud Light Commercial was like a carbon copy of the Wendy’s spicy chicken commercial from a while back…minus points.

OK, thumbs up for Chris Kattan.

I concur! That was good.

And so was the “cheese Bud Light”

That Under Armor thing was just awful.

So far the Bud Light cheese ad is the best…Not that that is saying much.

Screaming animals = hilarious.

Okay, that last Bridgestone tire one was funny.

It almost could’ve been shot by the Coen brothers.

Is anyone else REALLY over American Idol?

So far, the best one was a local commercial.

Maryland Lottery commercial: A guy upon meeting the new director of Global Operations for xyz company says, “PULL MY FINGER” as the new director extends her hand…

Fart jokes never get old.

Music by The Who and The Stones in one commercial break…hey, that’s pretty cool.

the pidgeons were amusing.

dog and horse high five. budweiser does have the animal appeal down to a science.

I thought the Budweiser Clydesdale one was cute.

Love the Clydesdale. As for that idiotic-looking action flick, there’s something unintentionally hilarious about Robert Downey, Jr. saying “Yeah, I can fly”. Yeah, now he just has to do it without the speedballs.
