I’m not sure that there will be an option to play without the special zombies. I think that if they only had the normal zombies it would probably be a little too easy, even on the expert difficulty mode. If you had a team that actually worked well together you just line up next to each other and back to back so you have two facing one way and two facing another.
The special zombies make it that much harder. You just finished killing that damn witch, everybody is hurting in the health department, and OH CRAP HERE COMES A TANK WITH ANOTHER HORDE!! I love it.
I’ve been playing it here and there. Unlike my boyfriend, I don’t like playing the demo over and over until I have the whole map memorized.
I’m really enjoying it so far. I love the graphics and detail right down to the graffiti on the walls. It’s been a while since I’ve had a game that I can feel anxious and on edge waiting for the next attack and I’m really enjoying it. I’m pre-loading the game right now, can’t wait until the game comes out.
I have to say that I was kind of regretting pre-ordering it until I set the difficulty to Expert. This completely changes the game. its much faster, much more realistic (based on extensive zombie de-facing experience), and a MUCH more enjoyable game all around. If you haven’t yet, I suggest you try it.
Oh yeah, every time that I go into a server now I ask that they bump up the difficulty to at least advanced if not expert. The game is simply too easy otherwise. I’m really interested in finding out what other special zombies they’ve incorporated into the full game, since what we’re seeing here is only a taste of what’s to come. Everybody is talking about the witch but to me the tank is ten times harder to deal with.
While it is getting slightly repetitive playing the demo levels though time and time again I do really like the fact that they completely switch up the enemies each time, and if you play through a number of times with the same people then it will do so based on how good your group is.

I think I must have accidentally jumped into an Expert game the first night I played, because Normal and Advanced games since then have been pretty easy. Will be interesting to see what the rest of the maps look like. The first demo map is a bit short, but I like the second one and apparently that’s only half of the in-game map that it’s taken from.
Well, we’re both going to need our own threads. Furthermore, we’re going to need a third for Playstation 3 folks.
Of course, it’ll get crazy with three threads all about the same game. There’s already a community Gamertag with the Xbox folks. Not so much for the PC people.
