Nobody likes slobs in the MMP!!

Ummm, who’s Amish? She LIVES there; moved out there for a job. Home is a few hours away, in Joisey.

Insert “heathen” in front of “English” and you pretty much got it!
{{{{{Spidey and friends}}}}}

Oh so she’s a (insert your favorite dig at people from New Jersey here).

I really do feel badly for her but I had to try a little levity anyway.

Do not finish that sentence. :stuck_out_tongue: Also, never ever call it Joisey.

New Jersey has a state dinosaur.
Arkansas does not have a state dinosaur. sniff.

Howdy Y’all! Spent the mornin’ over at the church house. First we had to chop up and move a hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge pee-can tree limb to the daid tree pile. Then we mowed and mowed and mowed and mowed. The holdin’ pond is dry at the moment so I [del]bushhawged[/del] mowed as much of that as is possible. Then we went across the road to a nice lady’s house and removed another hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge fallen pee-can tree limb from her yahd and hauled it over to the daid tree pile. So big mornin’. After that I came back to da cave, showered and had a sammich and sump’n to drink. Then we had a nice rain come through for bout half an hour. I decided upon nappage and now I’m up and here I am.

{{{Spidey and Friends}}} that’s horrible!

flytrap Arkansaw has canned possum to make up for the lack of a state dinosaur.

How awful for your {{{friend, Spidey}}}

Percy is still here, I didn’t feel like going out today. Just as well because Sah-dog is going through one of his weird spells again and I’d rather not leave him alone.
The one where he will jump up out of a sound sleep, let out a yelp, and then run around crashing into things.

I need to get up and start on the hamburgers. Sah-son has been bugging me to make them. I think he should learn how, but that is the division of labor around here and I’d rather cook than mow the lawn.

I wish I had a griddle or a bigger frying pan so I can make them all at once.

I was trying to stick to happy news today, but it seems like it’s just not meant to be.

I got disappointing news earlier in the week too, but I’m still too upset about it to talk about it.

I am posting in the MMP instead of doing the paperirk I outta be doing.

:frowning: Poor Percy. I think you were using Feliway. Did it wear off? If you do get another cat, two suggestions. First, get the opposite sex, it really helps avoid territory issues, and even helps ease things into “wanna be friends” territory. Forget, number 2. I was going to say, get a younger cat, but Percy is so shy that I don’t know. It might work magic, it might not. Pick a female cat that is outgoing and sweet with you and don’t worry about the rest. Good luck.

Oh noes. :frowning: My condolences. That is terrible.

I let the cats out of their crate yesterday. They were in a very large kennel (think boarding kennel - triple story special) for weeks at my folks’ house, and then a dog crate (think german shepherd size) for travelling. I let them out yesterday and they’ve been exploring. Against all predictions the first one that showed up in my lap was the scaredy cat. The most outgoing and mellow cat has yet to come find me. Oh well, things will equalize eventually. It’s nice have my buddies back.

Khan used to spend a day in a closet every time we moved, then slowly start exploring, a little further with each foray. I’d bring him in, pull him out of his carrier, show him his new food place and litter location, and then let him find his own closet to hide in.

doesn’t lessen the sympathy/empathy we feel, though! :stuck_out_tongue:

Home at last! *SOMEONE *decided to mow the grass today. That someone is napping at the moment, and I hope to heck he work his back brace. He drives me crazy some times… <headdesk>

I’m thinking this might be a good night to go out for something to eat because I don’t feel like cooking. Or we might order pizza. Whatever. We’ll see what someone thinks when he wakes up.

TGIF!!!

Texas Roadhouse fed us. Huzzah for call-ahead seating - when we got there, I heard the hostess say the wait was about 30 minutes. We were seated immediately because I’d called. Yay!!

Time to don the robe of relaxation and chillage. Mowage tomorrow, chillage tonight.

Dindin got ingested and all is well at da cave. OYKW is havin’ a soak in the tub whilst sippin’ upon a beerverage. He’s a picture of sloth and decadence in there.

Sari when I first read your last post I read it as Sah-son is goin’ through one of his weird spells again. As I read further I thought, hmmmm… maybe I best go back for a re-read.

TGIF indeed. I left irk early and stopped at the Vet to get Louie’s toenails trimmed. You"d thing they were killing him all the shrieks and carrying on. He was not being hurt but being a drama queen.

Steak night. Got the N.O.T.'s in the oven. Hubs had to go back to irk so no telling how long until he gets home.

Been watching the Olympics and got home today just in time to see an equestrian jumping event. Interesting. I am tahred and plan to spend tomorrow trying to catch up on some sleep.

Happy Weekend everyone.

{{Spidey}}. Get well soon. Nettie

Too much sad in the last couple of days. Hugs all around.

Raining outside (sounds like it might be stopping), so my team’s first soccer game (Saturday at 1PM) may be in jeopardy if the fields get too wet. Also signed up to referee two U10 soccer games in the morning, so I should be a wreck by the afternoon.

Decided to break fast today at Golden Corral and over did (what do you mean, bacon and chocolate chip cookies are not a proper desert?), so even now 9 hours later I don’t feel hungry. I’ll fix some grilled cheeses in a bit.

Swampy the image kind of gave me a giggle, but I’d be very concerned if Sah-son started yelping and crashing into things.
Especially since his 200 pounds is going to do a lot more damage.

Sah-dog doesn’t shriek when he gets his nails clipped, he growls.
His nails need trimming, it’s been on the ToDoList for 2-3 weeks.

I cannot believe how loud the cicadas are this year.

Sari. I totally read it as Sah-son too. Could not figure out what the heck swampy was talking about until just now. I am losing it. Sorry Poor Percy did not work out. Maybe he has been abused in the past.

About the only productivity I’ve achieved today was clipping the cat’s front claws (her back claws never seem to really need attention), and that was in self-defense.

Seanette is right…we need to return this week for a refund and demand a do-over. I had high hopes for this week, since I took Monday off from work.

I returned to the office on Tuesday, greeted by a crapstorm of paperwork and messes to straighten out. Plus, I found out that my former boss died last week. I have no idea how I missed hearing about his passing, and I hate that I missed the funeral and didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. He was truly a larger than life character, and I think if it’s possible for someone to be immortal, it would have been him. We reconnected long after I stopped working for him, when my husband died…he was really worried about me, and checked on me regularly to make sure I was okay. We ended up building a friendship over the years, and I was always touched by his kindness. I had just been thinking that it had been a while since we got together for sushi, and was thinking about giving him a call. I wish I had! I will truly miss him.

My week ended with the news that my husband’s grandmother had a massive stroke on Thursday, and her prognosis is not good. She is the most remarkable woman I’ve ever met, and the thought of losing her is just heartbreaking. I always felt so lucky to marry into such an amazingly awesome family, and cherished all the big family get togethers we’ve shared over the years. She is truly the best.

I let the powers that be at work know that I will most likely drop everything and travel to Florida to go see her next week. That’s not a good thing for them, since my work counterpart is on vacation next week, and I am covering for her. I have no idea how to make that work, but it’s gonna have to work out somehow.

Thanks for letting me vent. I think I’m going to go curl up now, and have a good cry. :frowning:

Indeed.

Had a small accident at work; I tangled with a pup-trailer jack stand and we both sort of tied for the lead. The bad news is that my arm is a little sore; the good news is that I have a 27 inch bicep.

Its actually not nearly as bad as it looks. It is swollen as Hades but I have full motion without anything hurting more than anything else. I did an accident report and will have to get checked out by our in-house med-tech but the absolute worse part was walking in the door saying "I know this is going to look awful but trust me --------- " to the Old Wench.
