It’s too early after a stupidly disturbed night and I can’t brain yet, so no clever idea to get this thing started.
Yeah, like that’ll stop us!!
Happy Moanday!

First! It’s good to be juvenile!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 85 and cloudy with rain maybe. Or not. Who knows lately. I shall defilthyfy da cave today though it’s not real dirty right now. I also have a small ham in the slow cooker for dindin tonight, sides TBD. Excitatin’ day!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify a bit and get busy with spiffin’ da cave. Rah.
Happy Moanday Y’all!
I’ve always been amazed that folks could come up with imaginative openings for the MMP at the early hours of the morning. Up at 0515 today and I’m just starting to get my three brain cells on-line.
Washing is on the schedule for today, at least two loads and possibly three. Otherwise nothing much planned, rain is forecast throughout the day, so will be housebound.
Happy Monday. I didn’t know “brain” was a verb. I like that.
[grumble]
I was supposed to stay home and meet contractors today. After not hearing from them since last week, I spent several phone calls tracking down one of the foremen. Finally got in touch with him last night to be told: “Oh yeah, forgot to tell you, we’re a few days behind and won’t be there until Tuesday or Wednesday.”
What is it about the building trades? This is so typical it’s not even a surprise.
So I’m up and getting ready for work today.
[/grumble]
**pullin **- I used to have thishanging in my cubicle. It is especially true today.
I am at irk and very irked. I finished a secondment back in March and have been redefining my job role in our new office structure. All seemed to be going well, I handed over all the old work to the “new me” and she has been trying to make sense of it.
We are coming up to the end of the academic year, this is a very busy time for us as we have loads of exam processing to do and then we have to get shedloads of paperwork done for our exam boards. She is working on stuff for postgrad students, there aren’t many of them and it’s relatively straightforward if you know what youre doing. Clearly she doesn’t, because she hasn’t prepared any paperwork and she’s arranged scrutiny meetings for four separate programmes tomorrow morning. And she’s off today.
So her manager has asked me to do it…thus I will be spending all day fixing her mistakes and producing a decent set of reports for the morning. On the plus side, I emailed one of the programme leads to ask if he’d had any paperwork and if there was a time for their meeting and he said what a relief it was to be working with me again!
So I am here, braining.
I only start one if I have an idea already, sometimes days or weeks (or more) in advance. Case in point: I said I’d be away for Memorial Day weekend & if the weather had cooperated I would have started the new one with a really great tale. Alas, it didn’t & the damsel didn’t get rescued.
I saw there wasn’t one but just knew Mooommm would start us.
Happy Moonday!
It’s cloudy with a chance of rain outside.
I had a restless night last night and probably should have gone back to bed this am. However, I’m up. I’m blurfy, but I’m up.
I have to go get my scripts today, which takes care of what we are having for lunch/dinner. Since I have to go out I’ll pick up something. He’ll probably want TacoHell. It’s too early to think about what I want.
Good morning! It’s the last week of school and I say, yay! The teenager is done on Wednesday, although she’s doing a summer course. My week wraps up with a half day Friday. I think it’s going to be humid today, but hopefully it’s the worse of the week. Enjoy the day!
Guten Morgen. I woke up to a developing poison ivy rash on my arm from the weeding on Saturday. I knew I saw a suspicious plant in that mess.
I showed Irish Storyteller the cleaned-out hosta patch and he pointed out there are already Japanese Irises growing there. I still want to move some of the bearded ones. The beardeds in the front yard are getting eaten up with some kind of mite, but the back yard ones are fine. They just never bloom.
Back to caffienation and then this day can begin.
Morning irk is over, I’m all cleaned up, dressed, and ready to go out.
I think Burger King will do lunch/dinner. That is what was requested and now I know where one is. Then again, TacoHell is right by the drug store.
Then it’s time for yard irk.
I consolidated all my To Do Lists, and there are only 125 items on the list. Some of those are minor, and it doesn’t matter if they get done. Others are overdue, and some are future events, like a Dr appt and a birthday party.
My friend turns 50 this year, her first party got cancelled because her husband wanted to separate. Now he’s back and wants to give her a BIG party.
It should be interesting, being that he was cheating on her with his son’s wife.
After my other friend’s son in law tried to kill her daughter, and this friend’s husband cheating with his daughter in law, there’s enough material for two* Lifetime Movies of the Week*. We could get rich.
Da cave is mostly sanitary. I haven’t touched the master bath yet. Right now I am havin’ some watermelon for N.O.L. It’s good but not as good as the last one. I have learnt my lesson and will go back to the little produce stand for future watermelon needs. Lima beans and scalloped N.O.T. shall be the sides for dindin tonight along with rolls. 'Tis cloudy and hyoooooooooomid out. Come on rain!
Irish Storyteller’s Evil Grandma died last week and the funeral was on Saturday. He came home that night all happy because he found out the truth about an old family feud. Apparently after his Evil Grandma divorced Husband #2 and married Husband #3, she went back to #2 for foolin’ around purposes. Husband #2’s Wife #2 found out about this and got herself a Madison County divorce courtesy of Judge Twelve-Gauge. This is the main reason why Irish Storyteller’s maternal aunt (daughter of Husband #2) did not like her mother.
He is now planning a family reunion so he can dig up more dirt.
See, now we have a theme. I’ll throw up some family dirt. My nana (great-grandma from the southern belle side of the family) died, her ex-hasband finally came forward and started re-engaging with the family again. From all accounts, my nana was the wicked witch of the west, feared and despised from LA to the Mississippi. The long absence makes sense. Once he re-appeared, it emerged that he remarried, and my grandfather had a set of much younger brothers, about the ages of his own children (my dad and his brothers). I gather that they did quite a bit together for a while. I’ve got pictures to prove it, but I’ve completely lost track of those children/great uncles. I should track them down!
79 Amurkin is the forecast today, but back to rain later this week. This is our fault, because we finally gave in last night and turned on the sprinklers.
I’m continuing with my program of slowly increasing exercise, in a bid to avoid becoming a worm. We took a nice walk along the river yesterday. It does spike my migraines, but there’s that whole worm thing. I’m just taking it slow and trying to at least do something.
Happy Moanday all!
Howdy all! My old laptop finally gave up the ghost so I am now having to use my new laptop that I have had for a couple months. It has Windows 10 which I hate with every fiber of my being. Even the keyboard is weird. Plus my old laptop had all my passwords stored so I had to go through that forgot my password business to even get back here. The one I had wrote down was wrong.
Tis Moanday for sure though.
Butters I think you can get Windows 7 if you want it. If you start a thread in IMHO, I bet one of the smart tech folks can get you through it. I hate Win 10 myself.
I was not finished. See that’s another reason I hate 10. Anyway, I got to irk to a big gift basket full of goodies on my desk from my boss for passing the month mark on my smoking cessation attempt. It has pickles, candy, gum, jolly ranchers, pudding a balloon and a nice card. That was a great surprise. I surely can’t go back now.
My sick clerk was back today hacking and carrying on. She was really sick. She had to leave early for a follow up Dr. appt. I told her to get some cough medicine. I would not be surprised if she also does not show up tomorrow as she is the one who is quitting and will want to burn up all her sick leave. We share a family Dr. and he will give her a note if she asks.
Hubby and his helper should be on the road to Orlando for a two day class and I am so wanting to be off tomorrow for the peace and quiet but feel guilty asking even though my approved leave last week was canceled due to sick clerk. I could easily do some half days but that entails two hours of drive time so is silly. To heck with it. Once I hear from sicko and know she will be here I will ask him. I just want one day. Well I want all days but one will suffice now as we are busy and I do have stuff to do like learn how to use this POS computer. I should have emailed my files last week but no the old one was fine then so I put it off one day too many.
Tis not the end of the world but close. Of course, I could pay to have all files transferred but I will wing it. Good thing I write my passwords down in a little book for my bills.
Happy Moanday! Blurf
Dindin is cookin’ and the rain has set in so it seems. Rainin’ hard out right now. I shall regret not mowin’ last week when this is over especially if’n it lasts through Wednesday like TWPTB say it will. I shall be more balin’ hay than mowin’. Woe. Retired life is so hard!
On vaycay in Dublin Ireland. It’s pouring rain and freezing cold. Walked over 5 miles today, ending at the Guinness Storehouse which was a ripoff. Had pizza for dinner and it was nummy. Tomorrow we go to Belfast to the Titanic exhibit and Giant’s Causeway. I’s tahred.
WetOne I haz a jealous! My grandmother was Irish, but I have never been. Please add my rose colored glasses to your eyes.
