As expected the sicko is still sick and I shan’t see her anymore this week. I did call my boss and asked for tomorrow off and he said go for it. I shall be a lady of leisure tomorrow. I will instruct my staff not to call me unless the building is on fire.
**Butters **- my FIL had a bad habit of calling us after 9PM, despite us reminding him that we went to bed early because we had to get up early for work. He was apologetic, but he kept forgetting. I told **FCD **to tell his dad not to call after 9 unless his hair was on fire. He’s managed to remember since then.
We had a quick supper of sketties, and I’ve run a rinse in the dishwasher. Chillage shall ensue. It rained today, and there’s a small chance of more precip overnight.
I has a jealous of both WetOne for being in Ireland and Butters for having pickles. I want a pickle and all I have is pickle relish. I also want a Guinness and that ain’t happening either. :(
Dindin has been ingested and the kitchen cleanded up. Chillage now ensues. Right now it is not rainin’ but looks like that shall change anon.
WetOne hope you’re havin’ a good time. Sorry the Guinness place was a ripoff. Then again, I don’t like Guinness so I wouldn’t have gone in the first place. OK, I like to pour a Guinness into beast stew as it does give a good flavor but not fond of it as a beer. Fortunately I have one friend who is a Guinness fan because needless to say one cannot just buy one Guinness at the likker sto’. He is only too happy to relieve me of any extras that might be takin’ up space in da fridge.
It rained more on than off all day today. It doesn’t make much difference to me when I’m working, as long as I don’t get wet coming or going. We started our new coordinator today. It will be nice when she’s finished training and my cow-orker can get back to regular duties and I can hand them back to him.
A good pickle & a beer? My clergyperson would go for that! However, if she also wants ice cream, mebbe a chat with a certain specialty of doctor is in order.
Wet one, been many years since I’ve been to Ireland; may have to find a way to get back there (And I’m not a Guinness fan either…Harp lager on the other hand…). Enjoy.
Sari, if not Lifetime, then you may have material for a couple Law and Order episodes…you too, Sunny and Big Kitty. I can’t remember any good feuds like that in my family, except my Mom didn’t care for her Dad’s second wife (truth is, most everybody didn’t care for her).
Butters, I never put Windows 10 on my machine, still happily running 7, and I’m dreading the day it finally gives out and I have to get a new computer with 10 on it.
Laundry done, dishes washed, and a couple of shopping items foraged for. That’s enough for one retired day.
Its not just burning; its the aftermath when everyone survives even. I first really came to hate housefires back when I first became Lutheran. One of the members of the congregation lost everything literally to the ground; just the clothes on her back. All the family pictures, every memento of her childhood and family, her late husband and son, everything. Seventy years old and starting from scratch. We did a thing between all us going through different pictures and making up an album with her folks, a couple wedding pictures, baptism of her son. We made new marriage certificates on old forms and replaced other records. We even got lucky; we knew a couple places important to her for the memories they caused and found a couple knickknacks from there. It made her remaining years a little brighter for her. At her request a couple of the things even went into the casket with her when her time came.
Everything can be destroyed; fire can destroy it totally.
I just hate it.
Other than that I had the doctor this AM for my 10,000 mile check-up and pending blood work everything is good. I worked, came home, ate salad. Now I am hoping the Molesters I MEAN PREDATORS win. Just for Red and Doggio.
Y’all are good people. I’m proud to know you. Seems like everyone here is always doing something nice for their fellow humans.
ETA: that makes more sense if you skip the post about jumping from buildings, which I also get.
I once knew someone who said that the folks who jumped from the twin towers were suicides, and were in hell. That kind of reasoning shocked me, and I was glad we weren’t friends, just acquaintances. I discussed it with our priest, the dean of the cathedral, and he affirmed to me that those poor people had simply chosen how to die, they had not killed themselves.
dogbutler - I didn’t think you were a Preds fan. You should be in Nashville right now. My niece was on the Plaza Saturday, had a great time. LET’S GO PREDS!
I’m married to a crazy person, in case there’s any doubt. I’m not going to go into details because it was a you-had-to-be-there moment, but you can take my word on it - **FCD **is not an ordinary man.
No clue what’s in store for today - just another day in Paradise.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 83 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. TWPTB may get this one right even as there’s a big ol’ mess of red and yellow to the southwest of us headed this way. I shall go down to St. John/s/St. Mark’s Whiskypal Church later this mornin’ to assist with gettin’ N.O.L. ready to feed a mess of young’uns and then feedin’ sad young’uns. The local churches are havin’ a combined VBS this week, started Sunday night and ends tomorrow, and it’s St. Pat’s turn to provide N.O.L. I shall spend time makin sallit and scoopin’ ice cream into little cups. Pizza, sallit, fruit and ice cream (with toppin’s for the rugrats to add) will be the menu. Dindin at da cave shall be grilled chikin sallit and cheesey bread. I also foresee a trip to the liberry before I go over to the church. That should keep me outta trouble today.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then purtification must commence.
