Nobody likes slobs in the MMP!!

Better late than never merging!

Carry on!

First, thanks Soapy! Now we are one again. No more fractious MMP! HUZZAN!

Sweater ick! No details needed. Icky bathroom is detail enough.

Today I have run some errands, obtained foodstuffs for men’s night and taken all that over to the church house, and finished two loads of laundry. I’m tellin’ y’all this retirement gig ain’t for the feint hearted!

By now, our pellet stove should be just about clean, if not completely cleaned. They guys were due between 9 and noon, and I’m going to assume they showed up first thing. Yes, I’m a dreamer. In any case, it should be done by the time I get home. I’ve done my best to clean it over the last few years, but it’s time for the pros to get in there and do it right. I wish I could watch to see the proper way to de-crud it, but what the heck - we can bring them in every 3 years and I can take care of it in the interim.

LUNCH BREAK!!

The microwave was clean when I put my turkey sammich in to melt the provolone - I’ll count that as a win! Meanwhile, 4 more hours till I can go home.

I was looking at the company’s HR manual - in order to keep my 401k, I need to work at least 30 hours. So a 4-day work week would fall within that limit. My leave would be prorated, so I’d lose 20% of that, but I’d have 20% fewer work hours a week, so I’d be ahead.

I did find out it has to be approved by my supervisor and a Company Officer - dunno how much of a hassle that is, but I may go ahead and ask about it. After I run some budget numbers, of course. I still need to pay for next year’s cruise. But I’m thinking it’s doable.

Happy Retirement Swampy!!
And hello & hugs to all the rest!

Pearl!!! ::tacklehug:: thank you!

MOOOOOOM and red because of y’all beastloaf will be on the menu tomorrow night. I dug a frozen one out of da freezer to thaw. Last time I made beastloaf I made one to eat and one to freeze for later. Now (well, tomorrow) is later. I foresee mac 'n cheese, steamed cabbage, and cornbread as well.

I am now considerin’ nappage.

That is all.

MOOOOMM For us it’s 35 hours per week. I know this because I have an employee whose husband is in Africa and she has two kids not quite old enough to be alone in the afternoon after school. I work with her as I don’t want to be responsible for anything happening cause no one is there with the kids. It does put a little burden on me but it is only until March I think.

I want to go home already. tahred.

I share my building with another office but it is still my building. This morning I arrive with my dog as usual and see two little weeny dogs tied to the bike rack and there was a guy on a mower and a guy using an edger so I went into the other office and told the man who owned the dogs to please bring them inside. The guy that works in that office almost had a heart attack. Too bad it’s my building ass.

A late blurf, but nonetheless…

Had to get the road service to retrieve The Boy’s truck and take it to be re-tired. He was driving on the spare, and got busy last week and forgot to go have the flat replaced. Oh well. (But he had to take a cab to get back to campus for his first official day of college. Fun.) Was hoping to get the car titled before we put the truck in the shop, but while the Taco is at the urgent care center, I told 'em to go ahead and replace the radiator. New tires and no leaks, and it will be ready for Girl 2.0 to take over in a few months. (And for trash-hauling and such until then.)

Speaking of the kids, Girl 1.0 and Biggest Boy are safe and relatively dry near Baton Rouge. They’re nice enough to send me selfies every evening, so I can see that they’re okay, because, you know. Moms! Biggest Boy has been living with his grandparents and working/going to school. I’m afraid that none of them will have a home to return to for a long time - it appears that there are at least several feet of water inside the house, and have been since Friday. First time since the house was built (1969) that water has breached it. This has been a devastating event, and the housing situation is going to be awful for the grandparents (they are old, and not in the best of health, and set in their ways, and change is hard. Sigh.)

Gotta go remake beds and do some more dishes and laundry and decide what’s for supper. Whee!

I’m the Stainless Steel Rat and I am a slob…

Well, not totally, dishes are always put in the washer and cleaned, laundry goes in the baskets and not on the floor, and garbage is promptly deposited in the appropriate receptacle. And the tub gets a weekly scrubbing.

But…I don’t like to sweep or mop, so the floors don’t get the attention they should and while I will change the air filter, I don’t vacuum the cobwebs as I should. So while the house is quite livable, I doubt it would earn The Mom[super]tm[/super] seal of approval.

Did finish the lawn-mowing last night, and also finished off the last of my Oscar Meyer Braunsweiger. so a road trip is in the forseeable future. Last run lasted almost 3 months, and I’ll be going to see my brother in November, so stockage should not be a problem.

Otherwise goal for today is to finish the last 60 pages of my current book and start on the next one. Having lunch tomorrow with some folks from my (ex)-workplace at 5 Guys, been about 3 months so I’ll see how much they’re missing me (probably not much).

Blurf!

I’m irking on a couple of new projects and beginning to actually understand one of them.

**MetalMouse **- Surely you’re not thinking I have some sort of housecleaning seal of approval, do you?? The dust and the animal hair and the furry ceiling fans say otherwise. I do keep up with dishes and laundry, and I try to keep the bathrooms reasonably clean, but I do not like housework and I only do it when 1: company is coming or 2: I just can’t stand it any longer.

I’ve been wasting time for over 2 hours. The boss went out for lunch, and as soon as he got back, he disappeared. I told him this morning I needed something to do, and I’m still waiting. He gave me one little task that I labored to stretch into 30 minutes. No clue when he’ll mosey back. BORED!!

Made it to Va. Stopping for lunch outside Fredicksburg due to traffic.

Pearl!
: tackle hug :

As long as the mods use coasters when they merge threads, it’s all good.

Not looking forward to this afternoon. I’ve got a 4-hour dental visit to deal with a filling that got old and popped out and two molars that got old and decided it was time to make like bananas and split.

Guessing I will be making use of the mega-blender tonight to make a liquid dinner as chewing probably won’t be much fun.

I was thinking more of those tractor tire fenders they use on barge boats on the Mississippi river.

Howdy Y’all! Not much to report. I did achieve nappage. In just a bit I shall head on over to the church house. Lookin’ forward to steak, baked N.O.T., sallit and bizkits for dindin. Plus, an appetizer of smoked snausages and mustard.

gotti yikes! Here’s hopin’ you heal soonest.

You are retired, and can still afford steak?

I’m making tacos for Sah-son and my deconstructed version of galumpkis. Brown some ground beef, added shredded cabbage, garlic, and stewed tomatoes. Serve over rice. Quicker and easier than rolling up all those leaves.

I’ve been craving some saur beef and dumplings, but I’m not about to make that - way too much work. New time I go down to the armpit and meet my friend for lunch I’ll get some.

Re:Tailgating 18 wheelers.

Dear Sir:
I specifically did not ask for a Volvo to be shoved in my face. Please speak to the Angel of Dictation about the matter.

Your Obedient Sevant,

Home. Much of my afternoon was a waste. I finally got something to do around 2. Eeeeeeeesh.

**FCD **is having some leftovers for supper and I’m gonna have 2 'mater sammiches. YUM!

He wants to drive to FL tomorrow. His surgery was 11 days ago, and he wants to drive 800 miles. Um, I expressed my displeasure. I swear, for a smart man, he can sure be dumb sometimes…

OMG! Was there an accident?

Yes, but did you specifically ask that one NOT be shoved in your face? If not, you left some room open.

I’s hongry. No idea how I will fix this problem other than leaving the house and finding food. Sigh.

Tomorrow the trailers are to be delivered. Yay! Wednesday they will be unloaded! More yay!

Also tomorrow Comcast will bless me with Internet, phone and cable. I am most excited. Using hotspot for now.

Hongry.
