Nobody's talking about Fairplay's broken face?

Yeah, that’s the great thing about these kind of stories. It’s kind of like Henry Kissinger’s reaction to the Iran-Iraq war: “It’s a shame they can’t both lose.”

I have to admire any guy who says to himself “I’m going to go jump on Danny Bonaduce and hump him on live television- what’s the worst that can happen?” And then he was baited by Alexis Arquette- good idea- Bonaduce would never hit a transsexual.

No Bonaduce fan- I think he’s a despicable drama queen- but Fairplay (who I couldn’t have picked out of a lineup) totally had that coming and deserves countersuit if he sues.

Apparently the DA declined to press charges. Ah well. I would have like to see Bonaduce try to get along in prison. Talk about his dream reality show gig…

Why all the hate for Danny Boy? Aside from a first-strike on a transvestite hooker (he said if he’d let the guy have the first punch he’d have been down for the count – pretty sleazy cruising for hookers anyway), what’s he done that’s so bad? (I haven’t been following his non-career.) There are a lot of child actors who fell on hard times. At least he’s not robbing or committing suicide.

He’s a complete roid-rage asshole. He loses his temper at the drop of a hat, and is utterly self-centered and humorless. He’s basically a sociopathic meta-celebrity who is a total oxygen thief.

He faked suicide attempts on his reality show when his wife, an attractive and seemingly intelligent woman named Gretchen, tried to leave him; apparently he’s done so several times before. Major straight drama queen.

If his wife ever does leave him he’s finished; he was broke when she married him and he’s a multimillionaire today. He said on a recent interview I heard that he has $4 million invested and no real debt (he’s the type to whom nothing’s too personal), and that’s mainly due to her management. No doubt that Fairplay, who’s 15 minutes is up, will at least try to go for that, but Bonaduce doesn’t strike me as the type to settle out of court even if he didn’t have an excellent chance of the court ruling in his favor.

He was on Survivor, but he was also more recently on CMT’s Ty Murray’s Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge – in the picture, that’s him looking like a doofus at far left. To everyone’s great surprise, he stuck it out and did better at the final ride than anyone else.

Apparently, this Fairplay type is a former professional wrestler. Means that when he grabs someone, he grabs them good… and he should have known how to take a fall. Also, that he should have known better than to leap on someone unexpectedly. And that his skills might make it aggravated assault… and that Danny’s karate knowlege doesn’t put him in any special place.

Danny is a little fruitcakey. Well, a lot, really. Not unexpected. But this guy?

Sucker broke all the rules of common sense. Normal, celebrity, and wrestler.

She did leave him, they separated recently. Last time I heard on the radio show, he was dating a 24-year-old elementary school teacher.

PS: editing to add that I believe he said his wife was still acting as his manager.

When you are assaulted, you are allowed to use as much force against the assaulter as is necessary. To give an extreme example, Bonaduce could not respond by shooting whoever that other guy is (I don’t watch much TV, sorry). Using more counterforce than necessary opens you up to criminal and civil liability.

I saw the video. DB just stood there for a second after JF jumped on him. JF could have let go at that point. But no. The humping began. DB’s reaction to the humping was to hit the “up” button on the elevator.
