I know how some of you are about post parties, but this one is special.
Nocturne is about to have her 1000th post.
Some of you may say that 1000 is no big deal. Well, in many cases you’d be 100 percent correct. This time, however, you would be wrong.
In the comparatively short time I have been here on the SDMB, I have met a good many people, of whom I would consider all of them dear friends of mine. Nocturne is right at the very top of that list.
She has helped me through some very hard times in the past, she has what I consider to be an extraordinary talent for writing, she is kind, caring, and considerate, but most of all, she is one of my closest friends.
In her 999 previous posts, she has never said anything inane or stupid. Everything is well written and thought out. She is a poster I wish I could emulate, both in style and substance.
Here’s to the first 1000, and hopefully the next 1000 more.
Most of us have done this by our tenth post. I’ve done so at least 5000 times (Hey, with my post count at over 5500, I have to have written lots of garbage!).
I won’t go so far as to say all of my 1000 posts were worthwhile and contributed to fighting ignorance. I know better than that.
I don’t think I’m a prolific poster. I don’t think I’ll ever be.
Nevertheless, thank you all for what you’ve said.
Airman: You know how much you mean to me. Thank you so much for this.
Pammipoo: Thanks, babe.
Francesca: Classy? Moi? I think that adjective’s better reserved for you.
SpiderWoman: Thank you so much.
SilkyThreat: Thanks for being a wonderful “mom”! I have really appreciated your “advice” and great sense of humor. (You platebreaker!)
TheNerd: I really don’t know how to respond to that other than to say thank you so much.
iampunha: Thanks, sweetie. ((iampunha))
Mauvaise: How could I not have a complimentary word for you?
