Well, since my senior trip to D.C. fell through, my friends and I hit on an alternate plan, stunning in its ability to provide fun and adventure!
Two words: road trip.
I’ve never been out west, except to Texas, and I didn’t really see much of it. I figure I have to do my traveling sometime, and this is the perfect opportunity.
There’s going to be four of us–me, my friends E’beth and Brooklyn, and E’beth’s older sister (as a chaperone).
We’re doing serious planning. We’d be leaving in late May and returning in early June. So far, these three places are definite:
New Orleans, LA
Austin, TX
(pit stops along the way here)
Phoenix, AZ
These are tentative places following the three definites:
Salt Lake City, UT
(We’d be mostly passing through CO & KA)
Somewhere in MO
(Pass through KY)
Memphis, TN
Home sweet home.
Of course, most things depend on the time frame we’re allotted and the money we have. Our parents are all cool with the idea, they trust the four of us enough.
So here’s where I ask for your input and also: how many of you can I meet while I’m doing this?
Oh yeah, I failed to mention.
If we don’t go to UT and end our westward expansion at AZ, we’ll meander home through places such as Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Just so you know.
I agree completely. Who needs Austin when you could visit… oh, let’s say… Boston? C’mon, they rhyme! Your parents will never know if you extend your excursion a little to the north and east.
In all seriousness, Nocturne, that sounds like a blast and a half. I’ve always wanted to go to New Orleans.
Totoro…sorry…geez, you know I would come to Boston to see you and Serendipity, but everyone wanted to go west. Who was I to argue?
Saint, my aunt and uncle live there. If we make a stop there, I’ll try to see you and Juliana. (Of course, you guys could always come to the next Bamadope!)
Oh, and Serendipity, I’ve been to New Orleans twice. You really should go if you get the chance…I love it there. I’m going to show E’beth around…she’s never been.
Look, I’ll cut you a deal. I’ll try to get up to D.C. and Boston as soon as I possibly can…maybe next Christmas vacation or spring break. I do have family in D.C.; I’ll go to Boston of my own accord. Happy?
(I’d travel all over the U.S. and Saskatoon, too, but I just don’t have the time. Or the finances.)
