Probably not exactly what the OP had in mind, but on Shark Tank the Sharks wear the same outfit for, I believe, the entire season.
I’m sure they due this in order to pick and choose the pitches and patchwork them together to create an episode that flows and fits the time constraints.
mmm
One of Guy Williams’ tunics came up for auction a few times, and I was amused/queased that it had a linen “underpants” with a line of snaps sewn on, so that it was always pulled down and tight into his pants. I guess it was that the addition was just plain white muslin or such, and thus sort of… clinical.
I mean, let’s face it, if we were handed Marilyn’s “happy birthday” dress or any other slinky, sewn-on costume worn by a goddess, there’s one thing we’d do the minute everyone turned their backs. But… Guy Williams? Ew.
Xena defaulted to the leather bodice, skirt and boots but (in show) it was her battle armour and (arguably) counts as a uniform.
She was regularly seen in other costumes throughout the run of the show and especially during flashbacks to her time in Siberia (furs) or ‘Chin.’ She would wear other costumes as a disguise plus would wear appropriate attire in the bedroom when seducing men. She would occassionally be seen as a prisoner and forced to wear prison issue rags.
When Xena (and actress Lucy Lawless) became pregnant she switched to a far more sedate full length attire for quite a few episodes.
Her companion Gabrielle had a number of distinct changes of costume every couple of seasons.
I have watched too many episodes of Xena…
In fact I have watched too many epsiodes of Hercules as well. Hercules stuck to the same main attire although he too had a few temporary changes.
Not exactly the same thing but you always knew when Jazzy Jeff was going to be tossed out of the Bank’s home when he wore that one sweater, the one he wore the first time he got tossed, because they used the same footage of him flying out the front door.
I’m not sure why the Walking Dead would violate it, (although as you point out with Gilligan’s mention there is no violation). With the multitudes of walkers and humans they kill, plus abandoned lootable areas, they should have multiple opportunties to change outfit, should they choose.
Green Acres - Eb always wore a red plaid flannel shirt. Mr. Kimball always wore his windbreaker and hat. Mr. Haney seems to have only owned one suit. Fred Ziffel always wore overalls. Alf and Ralph in their painters outfits.
TWD* should be able to get new clothes, because they’d start to stink, or itch or just fall apart (so would Gilligan’s. but that was TV in the 60s. Concessions were made for modesty. Just like the Hulk’s pants.)
eta: the people, not the zombies. I don’t think they care
