I’d imagine the French might have made one, but I’d love to see a good one not in English just to see their take.

By Vietnam, do you mean the war?
This is an interesting film about everyday life in the mid 1900s, that doesn’t refer to the war
The first Vietnamese film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. It lost to Belle Epoque (1992) from Spain. It was also the first film to be submitted by Vietnam for the award and as of 2017, it is still the only Vietnamese movie ever to be nominated.

My emphasis was the Vietnam war, but any movie by Vietnam could be very interesting, too… Thanks for replying

I liked Three Seasons , although it’s an American flick filmed in Vietnam and the dialogue is in Vietnamese.
Its Australian (so in English, but not made by the English) but The Odd Angry Shot is pretty a pretty entertaining look at the SASR in Vietnam.
Thank you very much! I’ll try to see if any of these are accessible through cable.
I was coming here to mention the HK action films but I see Bullet in the Head and A Better Tomorrow III have already been mentioned. There’s also the earlier John Woo flick Heroes Shed No Tears , and Sammo Hung’s Eastern Condors , which co-starred Haing S. Ngor in (I think) his first role after winning the Oscar for The Killing Fields.
