The News Of The Weird site stopped posting back in April. I’ve looked around for another site but all the other sites I could find were either hypertexted or had no archives.
Snopes has an odd news section.
Trutv has the dumb blog.
When I click on News of the Weird I see weekly columns through the current week.
Yeah, I read a new column there every week.
What do you mean by “hypertexted”? Almost everything on the Web is hypertext.
Last time I was there in September, there were only columns listed up to April.
Short blurbs followed by links. Isn’t that what its called?
Hypertext is just text with links – as opposed to a plain text file with only words and no interactivity. At first I thought you were some sort of technophobe afraid of links and wanted something like old-school newspapers, only online (how that’d make sense, I don’t know).
Do you mean you want the full text on the initial page, not on a second page “after the jump”, so to speak?
The way I understood it was comparing NotW, a page of short news items, with, say, fark.com, a page of links to news items.
Exactly
I hate the “blog” format too. Especially when you click on something that looks like a link but bring you back to exactly where you were. WTF is up with that.
tho calling it “hypertext” was indeed odd. in what context did you learn this word?
