I know the movie is old news but I saw 8 mile and I liked it alot but I also like rap.
Many people liked this movie that are not rap fans…so if you liked the movie and you are not a fan of rap music, what appealed to you about the movie?
Simple. It’s an old formula. Everyone likes to hear a story of the little guy who wins when the odds are against him.
I really liked the movie, even though I don’t consider myself a fan of rap. I like listening to it, but would never buy a tape, nor would I recognize who was singing it if I heard it (with some very few obvious exceptions).
E3
It’s a good story, the acting was good, the music is good despite not being from a genre I particularly like.
Because Brittany Murphy licking her hand was the hottest, nastiest thing I’ve seen in a mainstream movie in a very long time.
Because while I hate virtually all other rap, I like Eminem.
No liking for rap, can’t stand Eminem, rented the DVD out of curiosity because the reviews were so good. I was surprised that I liked the film. Haven’t changed my views on rap or Eminem tho’.
(Disclaimer – I like rap. I’m just speaking for acquaintances who don’t like it, and still enjoyed the movie)
Because the last 20 minutes of the film is fricking spectacular.
I haven’t seen the movie, and I’m not a huge fan of Eminem, but I’d probably like the movie if I saw it, for a couple of reasons. First, I like the title song for that guitar riff, and I have to admit his rapping is damn catchy on it.
Then besides that, I love performer biographies and biopics. Hell, I even enjoyed reading the life story of Lawrence Welk–that’s more interesting than you’d expect.
Hubby and I rented this one last night. He said he liked it because it was realistic (the problems the Rabbit character had anyway) and the acting was good. We both agreed that the subject was very interesting and original, too, especially the battles. We sure don’t see that every day.
As a side note, I had a long dream about Eminem last night after watching 8 Mile. It was, er, interesting!
